Damn.....what a shootout! At least the fans are getting a great game for all the trouble they went through with the game move and having to stay up late!

I think you have that backwards. Next week is the semifinals for the select brackets so the higher seeds host those games.

I talked to Coach Oliver about a half hour ago. Said StA had thei chances early to really separate but it just never happened. Class guy though, gave Airline tons of credit.

On the other hand, Live Oak has no business being on the same field as East Ascension physically or athletically, even with LSU commit Cameron Wire out, AGAIN, with injury. EA jumped up 14-0 very early and just zoned out from there forward. Some curious decisions by Coach Lee: LO inside EA’s 15, up by one, with 4 minutes left in the game. LO smartly runs dives and runs down the play clock each play. They wind up scoring with 1:10 remaining and EA never called a timeout.
With the ball and three TO’s and 1:10 left, EA’s best player, Jimel London, never sees the field and EA gets to the LO 20, but never throws a pass to the end zone. EA had superior athletes and a few kids, London Included, who can jump out of a gym playing wide out. Not one throw to the end zone in4or5plays in range. Ended with a completion to the5 yard line.
Tough night for Ascension Parish.

Yeah, that was the early 2000's. I remember listening to that game. all you heard the announcers saying all night was "Alley Broussard on the left side, Alley Broussard on the right side, Alley Broussard up the middle." That bastard could run. Never got drafted to the pros. Back to the "home cookin' " of the 90's. I seem to remember it was Barbier's first season . The refs were so bad, the HHS coaches wives ran after the refs after the game with at least one of them (the wives) kicking a ref. The "home cooking" was blatant. The Acadiana winning score drive was penalty aided all the way down the field....disgusting.
Dude if you’re talking about 2002, Alley Broussard and Acadiana beat Laron Landry and Hahnville 41-21...and it wasnt even that close. If you are still blaming the refs 15 years later, you are down right delusional dude. That was an arse a serious arse kicking.

2, 3, and 4 seeds in 5A have to play on the road in quarters.

This stuff is fricking retarded.

Scotlandville scores, 89yd kickoff return td. 35-33, 40 sec left :ha:

Interesting move by Brother Martin to try and go with the "start a fight so nobody advances to semis" play as Scotlandville was kneeling it out.

It's all good. Zachary's salty D has 0 points against in the playoffs so far. Not sure airline has a prayer.

I found it odd that the number 1 and 6 seeds were the only higher seeds that had to travel in round 2.

Who was it that said Evangel was going to bend Rummel over and go in dry...?

Even with their best player out, Rummel still hung in there... Score was tied for the longest...

Rummel would have probably been the best team in the state without all the injuries
