No doubt! Ump says something to the fans and "he is the devil"... fans say something to the ump and "it's just part of the game."
That’s you complaining about umps being held to a higher standard than fans.

I really don’t understand why they can’t just have posted rules that say something about no talking to or about the officials.

That was in the bottom of the fifth man. Iowa made an error at first base too, but at the top of the fourth. Get this...Iowa's error was the first baseman dropping a good throw to first lol. Parkview's error was a left handed pitcher fielding a bunt to first, spinning around and making a bad throw. One of those two errors is clearly an easier play. Iowa outplayed Parkview that day. They got 3 hits off of Corey Theriot.
You said 2016. Parkview choked and blew the championship streak against Iowa in 2007.

boat who are the front runners besides JMC?

Ask me 15 years ago and I might know. I don’t know anything about the inner workings of Parkview baseball anymore.

I'm not saying the umpire was right
I'm not complaining about umps being held to a higher standard, just that you believe there is apparently NO standard for the fans saying
quote:
The fans have no obligation to act professionally.
You are trying to cherry pick my words and take them out of context. My point was that it can't be a one way street. You either believe that both the fans and the ump are held to the same standard or neither of them are held to ANY standard.

1. they can address it with the RCO or the board of the association.
2. they can address it with the LHSOA
3. They can address it with the LHSAA.
4. They can scratch said official from working their games.
and don't say it doesn't happen because several times a year in every association(football and baseball) people get suspended for games or downgraded... you just don't hear about it.
By the same token official can scratch working games for some school. Me personally I pay zero attention to what anyone in the stands says(even my wife when she's at one of my games). In fact I usually don't listen to assistant coaches unless I have known them for a long time.
when the two winningest active head coaches in the state are happy when I show up, that tells me all I need to know.

Exactly. I have done title games in both sports (baseball and football). Most, if not every coach around here is happy when they see my name on their game assignment. That is all I care about.

But I have to think Parkview gave Coach Collins a head coach in waiting handshake when they hired him if they were able to pull him away from a program like St Louis to be an assistant coach.

No, I don’t believe that they should be held to the same standard. I thought we all just agreed that umps should be held to a higher standard.

No. Umpires should be held to a higher standard than fans. We all agreed to that on the previous page

Where did we all agree to that?
I agree that umpire should be held to a high standard... but not a higher standard. The fans should be held to the SAME high standard.

When I said it on the previous page, I didn’t get any push back. I thought that y’all were agreeing but maybe not

Why should the fans be held to the same standard as guys that are making the calls? That’s ridiculous. The officials are out there getting paid to do a job, in what world should the fans be held to the same standard?

Also, me saying 99.9999% of us DO hold ourselves to a higher standard doesn't equate to me saying that we SHOULD. I still believe we should be held to the same standard, both of them high.

Are you saying he doesn't want that job or that you don't think he is the right choice? Or maybe both.
If we're thinking the same one, I'm not sure he's ready yet but I would think he would want it.

I didn’t say that they shouldn’t be expected to behave like adults. I just believe that officials should be held to a higher standard as they are in charge of enforcing rules and preserving the integrity of the game.
