Class A has football, Class B does not. Beyond that, they are the same. The next step up for a non-football class B school is AA.

Schools that size can potentially put 16 teams in the state basketball tournament

1A=4
B=4
IV=4
V=4

only change in my district is that they switched Broadmoor out for Woodlawn again.

One thing that JUST caught my eye... De La Salle has the EASIEST district I've ever seen when they should be the 8th team in the Catholic League

This may have already been discussed on here, but why doesn't BR High play football? I know they used to but what happened?

Apparently that wasn't an issue in 2A, because Ascension Episcopal and Houma Christian are in the same district, 96 miles and over 1.5 hours away from one another.

I don’t get that one either but that’s the 2 furtherest ones. Everyone else in the district is in between. Houma Christian was added to 7-2A for 8 teams. It would make sense instead to move AES to the one with LCA and Norte Dame, 6-2A with 6 teams. Would have been 7 teams in each. 8 is the most in any 2A districts. I’m not sure if one of the othe 2-a districts would be closer for Houma Christian?

It's ridiculous that the Shreveport 4A district has 8 teams and the Monroe 4A district has 3.

I don't know the geography up there and it would suck to be them, but they need to send two Shreveports to Monroe.

Send Minden over to the Monroe district.

My son played basketball for 2 years until there was enough interest for them to require try outs. Biggest talent on the team was there for several years before high school, Greg Williams.

It’ll be interesting to see how they do without him and with a different coach. Still not sure they recruit any more blatantly than someone like STM or Madison Prep or even AES

It was always fun to drive to Jackson to get our asses kicked by Prep and JA

Is BR High a 100% magnet school? Caddo Magnet is 100% magnet and has no attendance zone. They don't play football but I am not sure if it's because they're not allowed or don't want to? They also don't play basketball to my knowledge.

I came here to post about this. This is beyond silly. DLS would win every single boys sports running away, and probably most of the girls sports as well.

Also, only four football schools in that district.

I'm curious if this district survives, but I don't know where else to put them. If you put them in 10, that's a cakewalk as well. I don't see them going into 9, because of the travel.

They would not be competative in the Catholic League. But even if they played up to 4A... where would they go? 10-4A, they would wreck shite. And 9-4A, I don't think they want any part of that LOL =)

I thought they were doing away with Class C and lumping those schools in with Class B?

Are there still as many state championships as there are teams? If so, dumb.

The listing is a bit confusing for 4A. It says SSA in District 8 but it doesn't highlight them yellow as a school moving into the district. SSA isn't in Lakeshore's district currently.

Nice to see LCA and their recruits finally moving up

Would be great to see Notre Dame crush them every year like they do to Teurlings.

Why not just combine these 4A districts?

DISTRICT 2
1. Bastrop
2. Franklin Parish 3. Neville

DISTRICT 3
1. Bolton
2. DeRidder 3. Leesville 4. Peabody 5. Tioga

I would be willing to bet that it has something to do with the 170 miles that separate Bastrop and Leesville.

That's about 6-6 1/2 hours for student athletes to be on a bus on a Tuesday night to play a mid season Basketball Game.

I guess I meant for football only. There was a cycle where there was no 2-5A in football; the Monroe area was in with the Shreveport district for football, and split for all the other stuff.

Add another ~15 to DeRidder.

When BR High went 100% magnet, they got rid of all the major sports.

I hear the old Istrouma/BR High Rivalry used to be fierce back in the 50’s & 60’s.

The yellow highlight is for schools moving into the class, not necessairly schools moving from one district to another in the same class.
