Problem for the selects is that they are going to always be the minority of votes for any issue with LHSAA and ultimately just have to take what the nonselects force on them. Things like playing championship games on Thursday at Noon are only the beginning. At some point somebody with some resources and balls will step up and form another organization. Likely wouldn't be able to make it work in North La and Southwest LA, but you could put together a damn good system in Laf/BR/NOLA/Northshore with the available selects.

Much to Roth's chagrin, he might have to actually play Curtis

Curtis and Evangel ruin two of classes. I have no problem with giving more teams a chance.
Looks like it doesn't work as well in the lower classification, but maybe this gives those teams more to play for and they'll improve.

Personally I thunk the 1a 2a and some 3a will bolt soon.
As for 5a select will be catholic league plus catholic high...
Then the gorilla in the room is still lurking....
If any 3a schools go with 1a and 2a...no choice but to combine whats left.....
A split in one way shape or form is much closer now

BUT BASKETBALL AND GIRLS VOLLEYBALL BRO
To be honest, its ridiculous LHSAA wouldn't let a program play up in a particular sport. But in any case, I think we can all agree that Curtis would still dominate most of the Catholic League schools on the regular. St. Aug would have their year here and there, Shaw USED TO be able to have a fighting chance, and Rummel would give them games every so often but BM, Jesuit, HC, and De la Salle (if we're still counting them) would never have a shot in football.

Curtis could have moved up and by choice never did. Save this line of crap.
Rummel no longer has to deal with West Monroe (a better football factory than Curtis) in 5A. I don't think they are worried about Curtis. In fact, Rummel already knows Curtis won't even play in 5A because they had their chance.

Agreed....but the point remains is this. There have always been powerful programs to deal with. Nobody was more powerful than Otis Washington's St. Aug in the 70's. The Booty's were rolling in 5A in the 90's, and West Monroe has been rolling for years.
These teams all were dominant and playing in the highest class of Louisiana football. Rummel played all these teams and never complained. They competed the best way they knew. It's been that way for nearly 40 years. Rummel and the other catholic schools do not live and die with football. They are schools with football programs.
Curtis is a football program that has a school. Someone tell them to step up and the Catholic league will be waiting for them just like they always have been.

And you know the reasons behind this they wanted 5a for football only and everyone knows who shot that down...

But I also heard it straight from the horses mouth from two c league principals that they wanted NO part of JC

they could have played up to 5A and been put in a district whether or not the other schools wanted them... if not the Catholic League then the JP district... i'd play them if it makes us want to have a better program...
you think the Shreveport district wanted Evangel? if not them, where would they have went?

I'm sure they would have wanted no part of Otis Washington and Bobby Conlin in the 70's either.
