That should be StA @ DS.

Anyone know a source for finding the actual game schedules for the playoffs? I'd like to know when some of the local teams play.

OCS taking 1A

really? why? They have a dominate pitcher? just curious.

I know that w.m. and st. eds. are pretty good and would not be shocked if a #1 seed in OCS didnt make the semis.

Since the timing of the games is dependent on both coaches, having accurate information can be a bit challenging. I was thinking about making my way over to the Dutchtown game.

Got it fixed. Nice catch.

The Advocate or other local papers is really the only place the game times are publicized. The LHSAA doesn't put that info on their website.

They havent lost to a team in 1a yet this year. there only loses were to the #3 4a team (which they beat once as well) and to a couple 5a teams who are both in the top 15 I think and a bad game against a 3a squad.

They completely dominated the #3 (twice), #5, and #8 teams in 1a already by a combined score of 42-11.

and they have been there before. (won state 2 years ago and lost in semis last year).

Hell idk if they will win it all, but if I was in 1A wouldnt want to play them.

They have 2 solid pitchers, good fielding, and can hit good. That's about all I've got lol

Well, they lost to us in the finals in '92.

I was more impressed with St. Eds than W.M. this year. They beat Sacred Heart 18-1. SHS is the #6, but their pitching is weak.

Is this single elimination? In Mississippi we play best of 3 each round.

St. Eds is a good team, OCS has played them 2 of the last 3 years i believe in the quarter finals.. They beat them one year when they were trying to repeat as state champs. The next year OCS beat them pretty easily and took state.

Hopefully their is a repeat of the last time they met lol

lsusteve1,

Not a Zachary fan, but they know how to win and their attitude and aggression intimidates. Do they have 2 front line pitchers?

Whatever happened to the Live Oak and Walker seniors from last year...any playing college ball!

I was thinking about Tyler McGrew from Live Oak - I thought he was playing somewhere but couldn't remember what I'd heard. Googled it and came across this TD post from 2008:

quote:

The 2011 class in BR is loaded with good baseball players. Will they turn into "recruits"? The "watch" list from BR is:

Alex Massey RHP Catholic
Tyler McGrew OF Live Oak
Conner Glisson INF Episcopal
Aaron Johnson OF/LHP Dunham
Austin Amphion RHP Zachary

Tyler Moore from Dunham might make the list

The next poster included Jace Conrad.

So... Massey at Tulane, Jace at ULL, Aaron Johnson and Tyler Moore at LSU.

Chris Sciambria (sp) - you could be forgiven for missing him because he was out his entire H.S. freshman year.

And no mention whatsoever of Aaron Nola. Guess that bad boy snuck up on ya.

Just for fun.

I thought McGrew was walking on at Southeastern but he is not on the team. He is not playing anywhere. No one from Live Oak is in the same league as some of the kids on that list and ironically, i think it was McGrew's relative who posted that list from 2008 on TD. Some folks from Live Oak told me McGrew would get drafted, get offered by LSU, etc...not fair to the kid, who was a good high school athlete, but not collegiate. The sad thing is that Bossier Parish CC liked him.

Where have you been since '93?

Seriously though, I am worried about Westminster. OCS has played some really good teams this year and as Tiger said earlier our only losses were to:
5A
#11 Denham Springs 6-4
#26 Walker 4-0

4A
#3 West Ouachita 7-5 (which we beat 10-0 in 5 inn)

3A
#4 Loyola 6-4)

OCS has the team that could win it all but, there is a reason we play the games.

They have 5 starters that are good. 1 lefty Mark Laird 7-1, .80 ERA, 30k's on the year (career 18-3, 1.06, 102 k's) he is also an all around great athlete.
4 right handers, Jon Michael Livingston 5-0 1.33 24 k's, Braden Bristo 6-0 1.85 51 k's, David Joe Branch 3-2 2.28 24 k's (pitched the semi-final game last year v/s Oak Grove, and Colby Webb 2-0 .44 15 k's.

They will also use Branch, Webb and Jonathan Washam 1-1 1.85 19 k's in relief.

All of these kids already have a ring from '10 and they have been to the tournament the last two years, no telling how many times over the last 10-12 years for the coaching staff. Add that to the fact that these same young men have played in the dome the last two years so, jitters "should" not be a problem.

All in all it should be a very good ball game.

That is tough. I like the best of 3 format we play, but my son's team would still be playing if we did single elimination. We won game 1 of our series, but lost the next two.

St. Amant @ Denham Springs today (Tues) 6pm

COULD be a decent ball game. Niether team, in my opinion, are good enough to make the final weekend, but both have played very well at times and might match up well.
