that’s going to be a hell of a matchup.

Question JJ - is the Pearson kid another brother or cousin?

He’s the baby brother and he dwarfs the rest of the family. He’s an SEC LB playing baseball. Doesn’t play football anymore

Speaking of Pearson, he ran full speed into the wall in the first. Home plate ump tells Simoneaux to check on him. Sim say, “Check on him or the wall?” Ump tells him again to check. Scream John you ok? Thumbs up and waives them off on checking on him. When he comes in everyone asks if the wall is ok.

That has little to do with anything. If they had a D1 enrollment they couldn’t play down anyway…

St. Thomas More is nowhere near 5a enrollment.

2022-2024 enrollment

I can’t find the 2022-2024 version of the classifications ranked by enrollment. But under the last one, the cutoff for 5a was 1152:

2019-2021 classes by enrollment

STM is actually down from 971 last reclass, to 928. So they’re at least 200 kids short of the 5a limit. Maybe more. And that’s co-Ed.

Not sure how that constitutes “ducking” 5a. But you seem like someone who’d have a concise, logical basis for your position. So if I’m missing an actual fact or two here, please enlighten us.

Like we haven’t had COVID, inflation, and high gas prices that disproportionately affect private school families. Everyone that charges tuition is hurting

St Thomas Moore has been D2 since the mid 2010s. This has nothing to do with current events.

St Thomas More isn’t a public school so it’s not publicly available…

they’re not turning away students and tuition $$$$$ to stay in 4A

Gators strike first in Game 3. Leadoff homer, and an RBI double, give the Gators a 2-0 lead in the 1st

Wait.

Let me get this straight.

Your working theory is that in 2020 or 2021 STM turned away 50 kids or so.

This private school that needs money did so in order to make sure they stay at a certain level below 5a enrollment?

When they have at least a 150 kid cushion before they get anywhere near 5a enrollment?

With the oilfield service business completely in the shitter such that they can’t afford to turn away anyone whose check will clear?

And with a brand new viable public school in Southside providing them with competition for students for the first time in forever?

I see now who/what I’m arguing with. Enjoy the HS baseball playoffs.

Barbe leaves a runner stranded on thirdbase. We head to the 3rd, Gators still leading 2-0.
