I think Shaw thought SCC only had one timeout left. Even after the helmet toss. Only thing that explains them still kneeling on 2nd and 3rd down. A cluster all around for that staff.

I haven’t kept up a ton with LA high school ball this year, any names to watch in this game for the future Clean? Interested to watch the Shaw safety
Rontrae Carter did have a great game.
I heard the announcers say Hank Tierney described his freshmen class as the best he's ever had (I think)

That call on the sideline was BS! The defender was running full speed for a tackle and fell on top of the runner after he was on the ground. 100% effort play!

Coach should make #50 wear his helmet to class all week.

I had already edited the updates article to reflect a Shaw victory.
Had to open a new window with the same story to fix it with the quickness.
I was scrambling like Lawston Broussard running for a TD.

Sushi,
Two questions:
1. Isn’t it an interpretation rather than a mandate about stopping the clock on the helmet toss? I understand the reasoning behind the rule of not allowing a team to intentionally jump offsides to waste clock but this wasnt the intent here in my opinion so I think this is a tough application to swallow considering the circumstances.
2. If you are going to stop it and give st. Charles their timeout back, shouldn’t you go tell the coach exactly what’s happening rather than just make an announcement over the intercom?

Dude he literally landed on him 2 yards out of bounds. The Iowa player was laying on the ground and got the wind knocked out of him because of that

Something has to be done with LHSAA officials. This shite is the worst I’ve ever seen and these are for state championships. This is not your average Friday night game. If they can’t do better then they need to blow the whole shite up. Just inexcusable bullshite in every game I’ve watched.
Also local associations can't really send the same 9 people every year(actually it's 11 now).
By and large so far through 6 games I would say most crews graded out highly.
agian the biggest critism of HS officials is from people not understanding rules, enforcement, the mechanics and officiating philosopy.

1. under two minutes the offended team has the option of starting the clock on the RFP after a foul or on the snap, this ended the jumping offsides or other intentional fouls to eat clock in NFHS rule.
2. Coaches should know the rule, it's been that way for awhile. But rest assured the wing official nearest the coach very likely told coach and that opposing coach was using his option to start game clock on the snap. The White Hat would not necessarily go over there and explain that, it's pretty cut and dry. It is a mandate that the clock stops on a foul which the helmet issue was a foul through penalty enforcement and resetting ball.

It happens more than you think.... St aug was gifted a playoff game with NO time on the clock.

I turned the game off and went to sleep even after the helmet removal penalty. I didn't put too much thought into it, but I just didn't see enough time for SCC to even get the ball back. High school games are so wild.

Exactly. Somehow the school will make him out to be a victim and treat him as some kind of hero. That's just the way it is right now.

How do y’all feel about Ouachita and Ruston? Feel O has the better run D, both offenses are really good. Ruston has better special teams play. Ruston gets after the QB well but sucks against the run. Ruston is a young team
