Catholic NI 3, UHigh 2 top 4

2027 LHP Luke Hewitt has been efficient since a rough first inning.

2027 Grant Vollmer has gotten into a rhythm for UHigh after a rocky 2nd.

Sterlington 4, Erath 3 bottom 6

Travis Adams (ULM) relief pitcher for SHS.

Erath goes to bullpen: Talan Landry 6 IP. He hit a HR.

It appears that Hidalgo stole 3rd in the same situation - with Trappey up and 2 outs.

Cubs got out of the inning.

Hewitt walked two in the fifth but pitched out of it. Has only allowed two hits.

Catholic NI 3, UHigh 2 6th

Sterlington 5, Erath 3 final

Catholic NI got two on base in the top of the sixth. UHigh RP N. Zeringue got out of the inning unscathed.

Jace Ruskoski relieves Hewitt to begin the bottom of the sixth.

Catholic NI 3, UHigh 2

I took the dogs for a ride and came back and four runs had been scored.

Catholic NI pitching depth prevailing.

Helluva way for Catholic High’s coach to go out with a championship. He’s been the coach there for a while and is stepping down after this game.

Hidalgo had a great year in football and baseball.

Ditto for Luke Landry (QB/OF) and Owen Morris (RB/IF/P), who closed the third game in the semis and finals.

Izaac Andre and Gavin Roy as well.

Senior pinch hitter Jack Romero walked to start off the big eighth inning.

Sam Houston made two bullpen calls in the fifth.

Senior RHP was replaced by freshman RHP Kannon Keiser with the bases loaded. He got a lineout to LF to end the inning.

I was told the kid that gave up the HR to Hidalgo had not pitched this year, but not sure about that. From someone who followed U High

I can’t imagine what it takes as a head coach, coaching his last game, to leave a kid in who walked 5 batters in the FIRST inning (amazingly giving up only 2 runs).

Kudos to Jordan and a special group of kids that have won state in 2 sports this year.
