The level of recruiting is just so far ahead of everyone.
He lost 7 linebackers this year and the two in the middle tonight were a 5 star senior and 5 star sophomore. With Deshawn Hand at DE a senior who was the no. 1 recruit in the nation. DT 5 star and Isaiah Biggs no.1 juco player in the nation.
He's DONE THAT FOR 7 STARIGHT YEARS!!
Hand and Evans are 1st year starters as Seniors and they were both 5 star recruits.
No one has ever had that much success without getting investigated. I'm confused how Reggie Bush himself hasn't investigated Bama.

I think Belichick is a notch above, considering free agency and what not, but yeah, Saban is 1B.
In terms of dynasties, right?
Saban is the best college coach ever. The NFL is an entirely different story.

He is legitimately a miracle play in 2013 and a last minute Clemson drive in 2016 away from seven national titles and five of the last six national titles.

Anyone want to put bets on when this dude retires? Tomorrow would be nice.
If I were him, I'd retire after UA title #6, I know his run at UA was WAYYYYY more efficient than Bear's was there and accomplished with less scholarships permitted for players so his GOAT argument's pretty damn strong already but surpassing Bear Bryant at the school in UA natty amount would be a mountaintop, watershed peak experience for him from which the only thing he should do subsequently is retire while on top in that regard.

He's clearly the greatest CFB coach of all time, but it's still amazing to think the luck that he needed to even get the chance to compete for most of his NCs.
As mentioned, he didn't even win the division in 2/6 of his NCs.
His LSU team in 2003 needed about a hundred things to happen to sneak ahead of USC into the BCSNC.
In 2012, OSU finished 12-0 and would have faced a Nebraska team that Wisconsin just annihilated in the B1G CG, but were ineligible.
This is outside of anything his teams have done on the field, because "great teams create their own luck." These were all things outside of his control (well, besides not winning the division).

I think he goes 5 more years. Saban actually has hobbies outside football contrary to popular thought. He’ll be fine after hanging it up and is pretty good on tv. He’ll win a couple more titles. Wayne Huizenga is a fgt

I'm not hateful or jealous enough to not be able to step back and appreciate that I'm seeing something that may never happen again. 50 or even 100 years from now people are going to be saying "I wonder what it was like to see that", same with the Pats. We're witnessing history.

I wish that low down POS was at LSU.

Back in the early 90s me and a friend talked how glad we were we weren’t alive to see UCLA and the Celtics dynasties because it’s boring as frick. In the end this entire season was a waste of time.

The playoff is the best thing that could have happened for him. It basically makes it so that Bama has to lose two games in a given year to be fully out and even then I’m sure they would still be close. With his level of recruiting that is almost impossible to do. He has just created the perfect machine that is so much better than everyone else.

You could also spin that the other way and say they are a blocked FG, a fluke Oklahoma State loss, a tipped ball, a 4th and 25, and a Wisconsin win away from having none.

With out The kick 6 the game goes to OT
I love how everyone assumes they win in OT and beat FSU. They did lose to OU in the Sugar that year

He's the best coach in CFB history.
But some would and have said that 2003, 2011 and 2017 are all fortunate.
03, USC coulda played Okie. Or LSU and LSU lost.
11 and 17 didn't even win their own division, much less conference.
Yes, greatest ever. Also very fortunate.

How? It should've been LSU vs USC, not Oklahoma vs USC. And if you want to go down the "well he could've lost" road, he could've won last year or 2014.

I do think they would have beaten FSU in the title game. I also have little doubt that they’d wax Missouri in the SECCG
I think I’d favor Auburn in OT because Alabama had major kicking struggles and the home field advantage was real.
But you are obscuring the point, which is that Alabama has won or been a hair away from winning the national title in every season since 2011 except for 2014. It’s the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen.

I mean really recruiting has probably gotten easier for him. Like someone said earlier, every class he's had going back to his first LSU class, has won a title. That shite recruits itself.

he is the GOAT.
And I'm not even a Bama fan, but some of the butthurt LSU fans on here is some of the saddest shite I've ever read.

And I calmly refuted it with another hypothetical.

USC lost in triple OT to Cal if they win that LSU doesn’t go. Also if ND. and Hawaii had won their last games it could have put USC in.
