And Kobe and Mj shooting less 3’s means nothing bc it’s shooting percentage.

what you see though is the more 3s a player shoots usually their % goes up. and this is relatively consistent.

actually their overall fg % goes down if they shoot more 3s

They usually shoot more because they are better shooters. Your percentages don’t magically go up bc you shoot more.

Kobe and LBJ both average 4 attempts per game over their career so the point doesn’t matter anyway.

Here’s the silliness of the “stats” argument in a nutshell. Kerry Collins has more yards than Joe Montana so he’s better. /thread

well n that case all the LeBron lovers have the same problem, unable to be objective about his many shortcomings and failures

Good thing I'm not a LeBron lover. I'm just a basketball fan. He's the top 2 greatest player of all time. What he's doing in his 21st season of basketball is absolutely unheard of.

But idk why we need a 20 page thread on LeBron, when he's not even the best player in the league anymore. Why can't we do a 20 page thread on Jokic.

Nobody in here said LbJ is better bc he scored more points. Averages and percentages and much more important than totals.

he's bagless

Having a "bag" is overrated. Giannis just scored 30 ppg on 60% shooting from the field. That's the first time in NBA history that has ever been done. The game is won by putting the ball in the hoop. Not who does the fanciest dribbles.

Kerry Collins all time passer rating is 73.8, Joe Montana's is 92.3. They aren't even close to in the same tier.

stats are harder to translate into 1 number in football anyway, Passer Rating has it's flaws.

we have several metrics that take all of a players stats and translate them into 1 overall rating in basketball and Lebron is an all-time great by all of them.

Kobe was winning championships with a team of minimums and one borderline all star in Gasol

You are underrating the hell out of those Lakers teams. Gasol was no borderline all star. Those Lakers teams were solid from top to bottom. Much better than Lebron's supporting cast in Cleveland.

quote:

Wade was the better player in Miami for much of the time LeBron was there.
You mean the guy who was averaging 21 ppg on bad knees?

quote:

Duncan was better than LeBron while he was still playing

Duncan was better up until about 08. Duncan remained elite throughout his career. But Duncan himself will tell you that he wasn't better than LeBron during their finals battles.

quote:

Then curry dominated LeBron for the middle party of his career.

False. Did you watch those finals games. It was proven time and time again that LeBron was the best player on the court everytime. But the Warriors were the better team.

quote:

Now do Jordan. He was clearly the best player in the league from the moment he stepped on the court through his second stint with the bulls.

But wait! I'm so confused. How could this be!? You just stated that due to LeBron losing in the finals to Steph and Duncan, he was not the best player. This means that during the 80s when Jordan was losing to the Celtics and the Pistons, Jordan was not the best player in the NBA. Remember, this is your logic, not mine.

That’s a deflection, I’m talking about your baseline logic which is completely flawed.

Must be nice to be every other superstar during the Lebron era.

Steph Curry misses the playoffs 3 of the last 5 years and no one cares.

KD is on a suns team with a “big 3” that everyone expected to dominate this year and just got raped by the timberwolves. He’s also been completely irrelevant since he left the warriors.

Two other top 20 players in league history having big playoff failures and everyone is to busy hating on 40 year old Lebron to realize it
Now name how many of those other superstars called themselves the greatest player of all time.

He doesn’t even realize he’s calling the competition overrated which diminishes his hero even more. These people don’t think past their surface level talking points.

Stats matter when evaluating players. They not giving out max contracts to guys scoring 15 a game. LBJ is elite in every way. MJ is the goat but LBJ is 2

He’s an all timer but he’s nowhere near MJ and isn’t #2 either.

You haven given a single shred of fact to support anything you’ve said. Typical and not surprising.
