Jesus that's fricking insane. It's bullshite these guys don't feel the need to do the Dunk Contest simply to be ambassadors for their sport.

The Dunk Contest was the shite back in the 90s and early 2000s. Now no one gives a fvck about it. Lebron could change that in one year.

This really is very normal. Go to any NBA game early and they have better dunks in the lay up line then they do at the dunk contest.

There are guys you've never heard of doing 360 windmills off the backboard. Obviously Lebron's dunk was extremely impressive but Birdman's dunk was as well. Lebron has had better dunks than that pregame.

I think even in the past stars didn't used to do the dunk contest.

They did it when they were young players... "Upcoming stars".

Then we look back at the contests and realize how stacked they were. But people didn't know how good these players were going to become at the time.

And 1988 I believe, but those were the last years for that practice. By 1990, stars stopped wanting in.
