I'm agreeing with you; what's the problem?

ETA Wait. No I'm not.

Now I don't know the breakdown on this board, but I'd wager most here who argue that are under 25. I just don't believe anyone who watched Jordan in the 90s or understands how much harder the game was for scores back then could reasonably believe Lenron is better.

The game was easier for scorers back then.......

There you go AGAIN with thinking Bron is better than MJ... You seem to be a decent poster but are losing ANY cred you have if you think Bron is better than MJ... Just sayin.........

Well we're in a thread discussing their accomplishments through age 31. LeBron is unquestionably better to this point. You can take issue with the measuring stick, but there is a clear victor through this point.

You have to be early thirties or younger.

THE biggest problem with the MSB.. These young folk THINK they know... They think stats are the end all be all....

Hand checks were effectively legal, there was no defensive three second rule, the hand and wrist were considered an extension of the ball and you really had to earn a flagrant back then. So many of these shooting fouls Lebron, Westbrook, etc. draw today were jump balls, clean blocks and no calls through the mid-90s.

Scoring averages weren't down but points were earned, not given. Jordan at his absolute peak still never got as many star calls as Lebron consistently gets.

PJ, these young bucks will cling to anything that makes them feel better about their wayward generation. But they know not of what they speak when it comes to this conversation. Put Lebron in the game against the 89-90 Pistons and let's see how rattled he gets. By estimation, he would be completely out of his game mentally in the first five minutes. Jordan had to deal with that every year.

Illegal defense trumps all of that.

I mean, stats support it too. MJ averaged more PPG, had a higher PER and a better defensive efficiency rating than Lebron at 31. Lebron is a slightly better rebounder (7.2 per game compared to Jordan's 6.4) and a better passer. However, given that he is taller and much bigger than MJ the rebounding difference is negligible. Jordan also had a better FG % and a MUCH higher FT %.

So even after all that just happened, you are still going with the "Bron gets rattled" narrative Skip Bayless fed you over the years?

I know I talk a little trash about Lebron but I do really like the guy and think he is a phenomenal player. A large part of my big talk is nostalgia but I still believe MJ is a better all around player. Lebron still has some years left, though, and he could still add a few more rings. He has my respect.

The Piston teams of the late 80's would be inside Brons head SOOO easy it would be laughable, Plus they would pound the crap out of him.................

Nonsense

First of all, no team uses the zone as their primary defense and hasn't since it was allowed in 2001. League wide teams use zone less than 25% of the time and some teams almost never use it except in specific situations. It's simply not that effective now that shooters are so efficient.

Second, the no zone rule was VERY loosely utilized in the paint. Guys like Mutumbo would 3-6 feet off their man and basically live in the paint all game waiting for drives to the bucket. It's why blocks are down so much among post players.

There isn't, there's just one side too ignorant to know they're clearly wrong. It's a lot like the creation vs evolution "debate" in that only one side believes such a debate even exists.

And I'm not even a Lebron hater, I believe he is #2 all time. He's just not better than Jordan.

Maybe now, but there was a time when making Lebron quit wasn't the most challenging feat.

Hell the bad boy Pistons made Jordan quit in 1990 with the Jordan rules, and they shortened Bird's career by a few years with the beatings they gave him.
