You're just being retarded now.
Why?

Let’s use his charity as an example. He has helped over 1000 kids by paying for their education?

How is his impact on society any more powerful than, say, a nurse who has been involved in the treatment of 1000s of kids?

What would be the impact to society if he vanished?

The same as if I disappeared. Society would continue on and someone would replace both of us without issue.

Well, his race is irrelevant. There are many intelligent black men who’s opinions should be propped up and broadcasted. It is sad that Lebron is likely overshadowing them.
Meh. I think it has something to do with the backlash he is receiving. It isn't just this platform that has those that express their discontent for him. Check twitter for some of those scathing replies that mention his race or colorful words and phrases that reference his race.

Are you comparing Lebron to MLK?

Mother of god...

There are some parallels in the backlash that they both receive verbally. That is where it ends though so that is why I made the comparison

I think the main problem is espn parading him around to talk about race. Go to CNN or MSNBC but we're sick of sports being a propaganda arm of the Democrat party

Would you agree that his impact has the potential to break a cycle a poverty for those kids? Anybody can do something that they get paid to do. Lebron isn't receiving a benefit, but the nurse is. Lebron is being altruistic, the nurse is just doing what she is paid to do.

You don't have to watch. Not trying to be a dick, but what other option is there?

ESPN had nothing to do with this. His interview was done by an autonomous network that he owns. Fox News is the one who paraded it around for their own clicks.

No one cares about facts though. Just “Lebron is dum harharhar”

I’ll pass. I don’t use Twitter.

There are parallels between Lebron and any other celebrity who received backlash.

Don’t compare him to MLK.

What benefit does Lebron get besides a feeling of knowing he did something good? You think he's skimming off the top from the outside monetary contributions of others? The man was worth 9 figures at 18 and has made sound, wise investments with his money. He isn't hurting in the least for money, so what is he getting?

He has accomplished more than everyone on this board combined.

I’m not saying what he says is fact or always right, but he has more than earned his right to say whatever he wants whenever he wants. You don’t have to like it, but some people care.

You don’t know what intentions that woman had. He said something about race for 30 seconds in a 20 minute long video, Fox News pulled that piece to comment on.

They aren’t saying shut up and xyz to players that agree with them. Could be race, could be political leanings and beliefs. All I’m saying is nothing Lebron said warrants this retard fanboy club going on here the last 2 days

OMG the horror of a 15 year veteran wanting to pass along lessons learned to a younger player with great potential.

If he put it out himself I don't have a problem with it. I'm a first amendment absolutist when as long as it's afforded to all sides which is why I have a problem with ESPN. That also means I think Laura Ingraham is well within her rights to criticize his viewpoint.
