To be fair, it appeared Storer attacked quite a bit within the break, throwing everyone off. If they would have worked together better they might have been able to reel Wellens in. But Wellens was riding like hell in TT mode.

Storer attacked on the last climb (before Wellens got away) Quinn followed. No real issue with that but was out of position when wellens went from the back.

I have no issue with Pogi doing exactly what he did, I was just poking fun. If anything, I think cycling has too many gentleman's agreements. Flicking your elbow and expecting your biggest rival, the leader of the race, to take a pull is silly.

Gotcha

Two rivals working together certainly makes sense sometimes, not then though

Tim used them today to his advantage. Nobody was miffed he contracted a chronic case of wheel suck while he was in the breaks because his team had the responsibility for protecting yellow and he was up the road. While he had a great set of legs today and likely would have won anyway, he also hadn't expended the effort most of the rest had taking their pulls to be at the tip of the spear.

I don’t understand cycling sometimes. 3rd place up for grabs, rest day tomorrow and only one person (Carlos Rodriguez) even gave an effort. It appears Jonas has given up and settled for 2nd place as well. Too many days in the Tour nothing really happens for GC

When we all know, we all know.
They also know.
UAE travel chef recipes > Peloton travel chef recipes.
They get fed better.
Also Visma has been a mess this Tour.

Do cycling fans look at nation-state owners the same way as soccer fans?

As in, due to having unlimited funds available to them, they are somewhat ruining the sport due to legalized financial doping. (Example: Manchester City, Newcastle, PSG)

Dont care. UAE doesnt win everything.

People forget that Jonas won two in a row after Tadej had won the previous two. In addition, Jonas was extremely competitive last year after a punctured lung. UAE made adjustments after the 2023 loss and has closed the gap on VISMA

It’s sports washing, but is a fact of life for all sports.

Call me whatever, but i’m not here for the morality of it all. I want to see the best athletes competing. I dont really care what their jersey says

They are competing, the problem is they are all exhausted. 10 days of racing without a break doomed this tour.

Tomorrow they party on one of the most famous climbs in France. Not sure how the racing will be, but there will be a party.

While not the Ventoux one of my favorite drama moments from the Tour was Lance going off-road to avoid Beloki. I always figured the cycling gods loved Lance because I could ride over that section 100 times and get 201 punctures.

The others were Chaingate, and when a fan hooked Lance's bar with a musette then he had a clusterfrick with his pedal.

YT clip shows both the offroading and musette crash

The craziest drama had to be Eddy getting punched in the liver by a fan near the end of a stage. Very well may have cost him his 6th yellow jersey.

I was about to ask if there’s a shot for some drama tomorrow, but this is much more believable

Fight for the break will be interesting, if will have to be big just to make it to the foot of the climb. UAE will put Politt on the front for 2 hrs to control and then the sivakov, soler, wellens, yates, narvaez train punch it from the bottom.
