Snyder is a douche and Redskins is a dumb name, but Mr. Wylie isn't wrong.

It's sad how the Capitalism Fanboys are defending Daniel Snyder, and the funny thing is that this selfish frick wouldn't even piss on you if you were on fricking fire.

Morality has nothing to do with it. Snyder being a POS has nothing to do with it.

It's Snyder's property and he owns the team and only he has the right to make any changes to the name if he so desires.

It does not belong to you. The name of the team belongs to nobody but Daniel Snyder and I will always call out people who want to infringe on those property rights. I will never be ok with using gov't as a vehicle to force morality and harass private businesses to correct something they perceive as wrong.

I'd be interested to see his more exact thoughts with buzzwords like that.

Better yet, on a board more appropriate for this with experts on the subject.:coco2:

I believe the alternative is don't read Deadspin. It's not like it's a giant news organization you can't avoid. Or just don't get your feelings hurt because you disagree with them.

Some of their content is good, and I like the general style and ESPN hating, but their left leaning slant is annoying.

Congress can't pass a budget and we are drowning in debt and this is the issue they find important?

No wonder we are screwed as a nation

Congress needs to get back to being focused on things that really matter to the future of our country, like steroids in baseball.

good lord the NFL is taxed at the team level. you really think the Govt should get a share off the league office and then get ANOTHER share off each team owner? frick the govt, they waste all the damn money we send them in the first place.

and besides ALL that - this discussion has really largely ignored the real atrocity in this story: the blatant attempt at blackmail by the federal govt to impose its will where it actually has no authority.

bunch of big govt loving pansies up in here

It seems like someone woke up one morning and decided to "get offended" by this "racial slur" when it has been the teams mascot for ages.

this reasoning is hilariously flawed. so, since it has been the name for a long time, it makes it legitimate?? I would argue that the fact that a racial slur has been a team name for so long is more of an indictment on us as a society than a reason to keep it.

btw, out of curiosity, how do you feel about the Clevland Indians' logo?
