I'm pretty sure he had an uncle who was an officer. I grew up with one of his cousins, and I'm 98% sure his dad became an officer after his military career, but I'm also willing to concede i may be conflating it with the uncle also being an air force officer. 3 decades has a way of fuzzying up details.

Wow, time flies. I remember when his nickname was "Trouble" and he was kicked off the FSU team (perhaps scapegoated) so that Peter Warrick could get a slap on the wrist.

Glad to see he's doing well now. His story is a good reminder that few of us are the same person in our 40's and 50's that we were in our teens and 20's.
