The 400m relay team he was on posted some times that had them around the Top 5 nationally early on in outdoor season. To see a 6'5" 215ish guy running under a 49 in high school was pretty surreal. He was basically head-to-head with a guy from Catholic and his kick on the final 100m was incredible to watch. Not sure if I've seen anything as spectacular in sports up close.
You sure you were watching the 400m relay? My mom could run a 100 in under 49 seconds. I think you meant the 1600m relay.
