On his eligibility Per 247 has no interest from any programs but is the 19 best player in the country. Seems unheard of. He says in an article Kansas and usc are recruiting him. 247

I think his dad is the big problem. Sad he’s being guide by someone who I doubt has his best interest.

No, it's because he might not be eligible to play in college because he played on a professional team overseas.

The issue is that he claims he was not paid, therefore there is some ambiguity as to whether or not he is eligible to play college basketball.

I may be the only person alive who didn't know he was good enough to be five star.

I thought he forfeited his college eligibility when he went to get paid in Lithuania or wherever he went in Europe.

Won't the G league's new rules help circumvent this anyway?

Not eligible. He’s played professionally overseas

There is no doubt this kid can score at the high school level, but his jacked up jump shot and his terrible shot selection will hurt him.

Add in his dad and his eligibility issues, a program would have to be pretty desperate to take him.

Magic will probably draft him with a top 5 pick

I’m guessing someone from Rivals or 247 has written him up, given his 5 star ranking. Just use the google machine yourself

His signature shoe is more of an issue than playing in Europe which he claims to have not been paid for.

He can score and has grown to be a legit 6'6" he is not going to college though. I think the family no longer wants to go down that road.

He literally said he's for sure going to college. And he can go all he wants but the NCAA ain't ever clearing him to play.

Dude is very good. He's averaging 20/9/9 for SPIRE this season. Talent has never been an issue with LaMelo, that's for sure.

He’s an athletic 6’6” point guard who has elite court vision and passing ability while also being able to score and play pretty good defense.

You can search Google for yourself. Really good 6’6” point guards don’t grow on trees.
