the lakers are better in general. there's a reason houston lost in the first round last year and the lakers won the west. there's a reason the lakers swept houston in the regular season. there's a reason the lakers are going to win the series.

Rockets this year are not the same team as the Rockets in the past. It's comparing apples to oranges. T Mac was hurt all year and bringing up the regular season record for LA is about as useless as me bringing up the Rockets are 5-1 last year and this year against the Lakers without Yao. Neither are relevant.

i root for the hornets strictly bc i live in louisiana, but i primarily like teh heat. i like this series a lot bc i am a fan of basketball, and odom and artest are two of my favorite players.

You act like you are a die hard Lakers fan. How the hell can you claim 2-3 teams?

quote:

its bc u constantly downplay houston, just like the media.

I am one of like 4 people on this board who has said over and over Houston has a chance to win this series with or without Yao the entire time and caught hell for it. I've been talking about how deep the Rockets are since the season started so GTFO with that bullshite

quote:

yeah they lost their stars, but it isnt like high school or college. this is a pro team with pro players. they arent going to roll over.

The Rockets have great role players and bench players but that's what they are. Take Kobe and Pau of the Lakers and give the Rockets T Mac and Yao and tell me how this series goes 7 games with LA's NBA players. The Rockets have done something special in this series and are probably the only team in the league who could lose their two stars and still take the Lakers to 7. This is a testimate to how hard the Rockets players have played, not they they are all equal because they are all in the NBA. 30mm salary is always going to be an underdog against 75mm in salary. Simple as that

It really is incredible when you look at the big picture. Rockets next year are scary if T Mac can come back from his surgery.

There is absolutely no team in the league that can claim this. This Rockets team, unlike Rockets teams in seasons past, is physical, can play defense all 4 quarters, and can play smart offensively (not all of the time, but especially at home). When they actually move the ball around, like tonight and in game 4, and hit their open shots, they can beat anybody.

I pray that they can do this on the road in game 7. They are an exceptional home team, but you can't win championships without winning road games. Look at the '95 Rockets.

Btw, Aaron Brooks is a stud. Imagine if he did this on a regular basis. He is one of the fastest player in the NBA. He just needs to play smart all of the time. Cut down on the dumb passes and shots. Be more efficient like tonight.

Honestly Yao getting hurt was the best thing to happen to the Rockets in this series. I know he had a good game one but you knew the Lakers would get their fast pace game at some point in the series. With Yao in the line up the Rockets would be short a man on the defensive end. I have not seen someone suck so much air ont he court since Big Baby in the final four. With Yao out now Houston can keep up much better with the Lakers fast pace. There is a reason the Rockets have a good record against the Lakers without Yao. I think they have a good shot on Sunday too. I just hope gaining home court advantage pays off on Sunday. Good luck it should be a good game.

This has been a breakout year for AB. Next year he is gonna ball. I am just happy win or lose we get to see this team play a game 7. I honestly believe the Rockets can win Sunday by out hustling the Lakers. Either way I am proud as hell of this team.

I feel the same way. You never know what can happen in a game 7.

Rafer playing well for the Magic in the clutch was somewhat ironic.

But then again, that kiss might get him suspended for game 7. Dumb arse.

ya I was shocked he made that 3 late in the game. He is a fricking retard. I was so happy when I found out he was gone. Lakers are the favorites but like you said, anything can happen in a game 7 and the Rockets want it more.

I agree the Rockets want it more. However, Kobe is going to play pissed on Sunday. I have rarely seen him play a bad game pissed. He was pissed to end the half, chewing out Vujacic and they came out on a good run. I expect to see a pissed side to Kobe all of game 7.

Yes maybe he will, but the one thing I see in the Lakers favor is both wins took career nights from players. Can that happen again will be the big question. I think the Rockets have to score over 100 in game seven, cause I doubt the Lakers get held to 80 at home in game seven.

It'll definitely take similar games from Brooks and Scola to pull the upset in LA. They can't turn the ball over, they have to hit their open shots (Battier from the conrer), and they have to outrebound the Lakers.

It's a road game 7 against the most talented team in the league, with maybe the best player in the league. The Rockets will have to play out of their minds.
