Our biggest problem is relief pitching. The starters are actually good, but our bullpen is allowing way too many walks and overall they just get shelled. Chase Solesky (freshman pitcher) had a very good outing: 6 IP 2 ER 2 BB. Then San Diego got into our pen and scored 9 runs in 3 innings.

More bats flew out of Tulane hitters hands last night (5) than they had hits (4). The 7th inning on looked like they were filming the Bad News Bears go to College.

Actually 2 over the minimum. He started the 8th with a HBP to lose his Perfect Game!

Hell of a performance though.

No, just 1. They had a double play in the inning with the HBP.

I was having so much fun. I've never seen a no hitter in person. I was real bummed when he lost it on a little bloop bullshite.

St. Peter is the worst team I've ever seen play in college, though. I hope they rain out the rest of the series, because that team will only win like 3 games this year.

Oh yea you're right. Totally forgot about the double play.

And yes, that team is just really bad. They will hurt our RPI win or lose.

Can't believe it's their first game of the year. And last year they went like 12-40 something like that.

Lol....wtf? I just posted the results of the 2nd half of the double header. I'm also pleased that our conference mates took the game, and hope they do the same tomorrow. That would help our conference rpi, if nothing else.

Don't see a damn thing wrong with that, so you should pop a midol and relax.

SLU wins 8-3 over UNO to take the Ponchatrain Bowl. 2 homers from Schwaner came in clutch. Going for the sweep tomorrow back in NOLA.

Preview for the week of 3/13

Big In-State game of the week takes place in Ruston Wednesday Night as LA Tech (13-2) hosts the Ragin Cajuns (9-4).

Tech had a dissapointing weekend splitting 2 games with Ark State while the Cajuns dismanteled St. Peters. La Tech will face Grambling on Tuesday before a very tough weekend slate against Southern Miss.

The Cajuns should have a succesful weekend taking on a sub par App State squad to open Sun Belt play.

In other Sun Belt action ULM (4-13) continued their struggles getting swept this weekend. The Warhawks take on Jackson State midweek before travelling to a solid Ark State team for a weekend set.

LSU (12-4) takes on LC and UNO midweek. The Tigers take on Georgia to start SEC play. Barring a complete breakdown by the Tigers I look for LSU to take 2/3 from UGA at worst.

In Southland Conference play SLU (11-4, 3-0) and McNeese (12-4, 3-0) got off to good starts sweeping UNO and Central Arkansas

The Lions travel to South Alabama before taking on Lamar.

McNeese travels to Houston before taking on SFA this weekend.

Both Lions and Cowboys should be able to take care of business this weekend.

Nicholls (9-6, 2-1) outlasted the Demons (5-10, 1-2) in extra innings this weekend to take 2/3.

The Colonels have one of the better mid week slates travelling to a tough Ole Miss squad before hosting Tulane in what is usually a lively game down the bayou. Colonels take on HBU in SLC play.

Northwestern State desperately needs a turnaround this season. Unfortuantly the Demons travel to Oklahoma State this weekend which will present a tough challenge for a team that has lost 8 of their last 10 games.

UNO (9-7, 0-3) had a dissapointing weekend getting swept. UNO has a tough midweek game against LSU at the Box before taking on ACU in SLC action.

Not much positive coming out of Tulane (3-12). The Green Wave lost four straight to USD this weekend. Green Wave travel down the bayou to take on Nicholls. On a positive the Wave take on Columbia this weekend. Wave should be able to handle the Lions, a series loss to Columbia will be a complete disaster.

In SWAC play Grambling (7-9, 3-3) took 2/3 from Southern (2-9, 1-4). Grambling has a very tough week travelling to LA Tech abd a weekend set at Dallas Baptist. Very realistic for the Tigers to drop all four.

Hard to believe that the Jags very recently had a very solid baseball program. Lots of questions need to be answered at SU as the continue their downward spiral. Jags take on Jackson State midweek and PVU this weekend.
