Week Preview:
LSU (9-3) is coming off of a dissapointing showing in Houston. The Tigers have midweek swings with USD and a talented McNeese team. The Tigers have a weekend series against a Wichita State team that was swept by La Tech.
Louisiana Tech (11-1) had a huge week splitting with Arkansas and sweeping Wichita State. The Bulldogs have another big midweek game against Miss. State before taking on Arkansas State.
ULL (6-4) held off NSU in extra innings and took 2/3 from Southern Miss. Cajuns have a good chance to go 4-0 this week taking on Tulane and a weekend set against St. Peters
ULM (4-8) has a tough task taking on Arkansas twice midweek before a series at UAB.
Tulane (3-8) had a weekend win over WVU but dropped a brutal game Sunday. Green Wave face a tough Cajun team midweek before a 4 game set against USD.
Southland Conference starts play this week.
Southeastern (7-4) takes on UNO (9-3). UNO takes on WVU midweek. Big oppurtunity for UNO this week to take down a Lion squad that has been one of the better SLC teams in recent years.
McNeese (8-4) takes on Central Arkansas. The Cowboys have a big midweek game at LSU.
Nicholls (7-5) travels to Northwestern State (4-6). Both teams are looking to get over the hump and need a series win to start off the year. Colonels coming off a sweek of Brown while the Demons snapped a 4 game skid in the last game against Kansas.
In SWAC play Grambling (5-7) takes on Southern (1-7). Both teams had pretty bad weekends and definitely need a series win. Jaguars are in serious trouble early on in the year.

Dammit. I checked the score earlier and we had just pushed it ti 11-8 going to the 8th. Just saw that we blew it.

Agreed. La Tech can keep it up it is very possible for them to be in the conversation for a national seed. I'd say La Tech is easily in the hunt for a regional host right now.
One thing I would hate for them to do is pair up the Louisiana teams together.

At least for SLU, the last weekend of the season is a series against Seton Hall.

Nice job on the start to the season Tech. We should include each team's average ranking by their name in this thread. LSU, UL, and Tech for now. But I could see Tulane getting back on track at some point and maybe even SELA getting consideration down the road if they have another strong season. The quality of college baseball in this state just continues to progress as a whole.
Cajuns moved up a spot to #15 in both D1Baseball and Baseball America. And Perfect Game actually moved the Cajuns up to #9.
RPI does not mean a thing right now and won't be relevant until about 2-3 weeks from now when everyone has played at least a couple of their conference series. But for now LSU, UL, and LaTech are looking good.

Can't believe we won that game. Down 2-0 with 2 outs and none on in 8th. Amazing success they've had since finally getting nuts to fire Simoneaux.

Proud of Tech not having a big let down after getting ranked. Huge win! On to Ark. St. weekend series at their place. If Tech can keep it going the game against ULL on 3/15/17 will be huge.

Wichita State is leading #13 Oklahoma 4 - 1 in the bottom of the 7th. Tech just swept Wichita State this last weekend. Come on Shockers!
