Denver would immediately become a top 3 AFC team with Romo imo.

meh, the Broncos O-line wasn't far from dog shite last year. So you bring in Romo and expect him to go a full 16 or more games next year? Pretty risky IMO.

plus a rookie head coach to boot.

The Eagles got a FIRST ROUND PICK from the Vikings to rent Sam fricking Bradford for a year.

The Vikings got a QB that was owed- $7 million in year one(2016) & maybe $14 million in year 2016 (not guaranteed)

Whoever trades for Romo will get his contract that pays him-

Year Base Salary Prorated SB Cap Hit
2017 14,000,000 10,700,000 24,700,000
2018 19,500,000 5,700,000 25,200,000
2019 20,500,000 3,200,000 23,700,000

Base Salary= $14 million next season, $19.5 in in 2018, & $20.5 in 2019.

3 years $54 million in base salary.

Bottom line a team might trade for Romo, but only if he agrees to a new deal.

No way any team would trade for an injury prone QB, at the age of 36, that is due to make $54 million over the next three seasons.
That is more than money than either Brees, Brady, Rodgers, & Luck would make over the same period.

Dallas should give the recipient team a 4th round draft pick with a 2nd #4 pick earned if they have him on the roster all three years.

What idiot gave Romo a contract like that? Romo must have naked pictures of Jerry or something.

What idiot gave an aging, injury prone QB a back-loaded contract? Idk, but he must be stupid.

If Denver can fix their offensive line, they should try to get Tony Romo. If not, might as well stay with Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch because Tony Romo would have no protection and we know about his injury history.

Fixing those two things would make Denver a serious contender, though. Their defense is still top 3 in the NFL.

Denver noodle arm Manning could be strolling out there
He took Denver to 2 Super Bowls, winning 1. I would take that again in a heart beat.

I agree. Patching up the OL a bit + Romo would immediately put Denver right there with the Patriots and Raiders imo

For sure but It's a bit of a different situation since manning was a free agent.

I am looking at romo as a Texans fan. As frustrating as that offfense is I don't want to have to lose Bouye, possibly a second round pick and all our free agent cap space for a 36 guy with back problems. Particularly since the oline hasn't been great.

fricking BO contract is killing the Texans

Completely worth the risk. If he is healthy, you make a legit run at the super bowl the next 5 years.

Romo will be 37 this year. He isn't making a team a Super Bowl contender for 5 more years.
