Why doesn't he play both like Deion, Bo Jackson and some others. I'm sure his contract with the A's doesn't allow it but when he gets drafted in NFL and pays them back couldn't he resign with another team as a dual sport player?

I don't think there is anyway a QB could do it, not in this era with increasingly complicated offenses that they have to learn and practice.
No NFL team would want their franchise QB to do it.

If QB doesn’t work out for him and he winds up being a WR or something, I could see it happening.
It’s been awhile since we saw a dual sport athlete like Deion or Bo, would be kinda cool to see someone be successful at it. Tebow is probably the closest in recent memory, but obviously didn’t play them concurrently and hasn’t made it to the majors yet.

Baseball season last two months including the playoff series and world series runs into football season.
Football practice and the 4 practice games happen in summer.
Nfl used to be 12 games, no playoff. Then 14. Now 16. And rounds of playoffs.
Mlb was 154, no playoff rounds.
No space for playing both now.
