Their 1998 football team was 1995 Nebraska/2001 Miami/2019 LSU good

Lol pump the brakes there. They were good, but not that good. They still lost 2 games that season against teams they should've beat.

Ohio St was the best team that year.

Sadly, the winner will either be Texas or Connecticut.

If you’re a nerd who cares about KenPom/BPI, then SDSU and Creighton are about even, and FAU and K-State are about even, and the winner of the former should be a moderate favorite over the winner of the latter in the Final Four.

As of the conclusion of the 2021–22 school year, only two of the soon-to-be sixty-nine Power Five conference schools have never won a National Championship in any sport, Kansas State of the Big 12 and Virginia Tech of the ACC.

Need to edit your initial statement to qualify it as P5 schools

Only team left in the field that has won it all before is UConn. Pretty fun tournament so far.

Two? So you want to expand the conference to 96+ teams?

In an ideal world we get rid of the garbage P5 schools that get at large bids over solid mid majors who trip up in a stupid conference tournament.

But that will never happen so expansion gets some deserving mid majors in the field. If Florida Atlantic had lost in the conference tournament they were a bubble team which is insane. P5 fans have no idea how the deck is stacked against good mid major teams.

Everyone wants to talk about how hard it is to win on the road yet we ask mid majors to go on the road against multiple P5 schools, many who aren’t willing to play a solid mid major, and then beat them in their arena with their officials. And then once you do that, you can afford one, MAYBE two losses throughout Conference play. Then, you have to go play 3/4 games jn 3/4 days and if you lose one of those games your season is over. Don’t even get me started on the stupid as NET rankings which sink mid majors even further.

P5 teams can’t really afford to lose more than a game or two against non-P5 opponents either. Oklahoma State would have made the tournament if they had beaten either Southern Illinois or UCF.

If you followed college basketball at all this year then you’d know it was never a clear dominant team and 3/4 of those teams were really solid this year

FAU had a 20 game win steak during the year

Stunning that the other side of the bracket has a murderers row of Zags, UCONN, Texas and Miami, while the other side is filled with FAU and Princeton

It's not the committee's fault that Arizona and Purdue are tournament choke artists.

Also, FAU was 31-3. They probably should have been higher than a 9 seed.

There is a pretty standard 3 seed punishment for being a non brand name mid major.

At this point, I’d prefer SDSU or Creighton over FAU. Something about this makes me want one of the solid programs to nab one, and not the pure upstart. But they are all worthy.

I kept a closer eye on the Aztecs and Jays since I saw them last year in Fort Worth for rounds 1 and 2.
