You just had to start a new thread for attention didn't you

Why would he not want to get paid and play with the best young star in the league lmao

Dumb thread, but that's par for the course.

Instead of signing a long term ~$150m deal he's going to sign the one year deal to hit free agency. After coming off a ACL tear. TAKE THE $$

I read that his brother is his agent.
Which explains this dumb decision

Signing the qualifying offer basically means Porzingis is betting on himself and will be an unrestricted free agent next summer, rather than declining the QO and becoming a restricted free agent this summer

Kristaps Porzingis will not reach the “starter criteria” prior to restricted free agency next summer. His qualifying offer will therefore fall from $7.5M to $4.5M. If he signs it, he'll be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

Why would he not want to get paid

Simple he is betting on himself

Which is fine. Let him prove his knee is good and then max him out.

No one here knows what the QO really is. It's the INVERSE of what they think it is.

Uh RR is right here.
It is pretty rare for a player to turn down a max extension and go QO/UFA.

The last guy to do it was Nerlens Noel who may have lost 60 million bucks betting on himself. I can’t think who else has even done this.
