He speaks around 5 languages fluently. He had a rule that he learned the native language of his teammates and spoke to them in that language out of respect.
I have to admit: This changes my perception of him considerably. I always knew the guy was smart but this is the kind of thing a 5% does.

Bryant's SAT score of 1080 would have enabled him to receive a basketball scholarship to multiple colleges.
I like how unknown edited this out of his post
a 1080 is 49th percentile, meaning most test takers scored better than Kobe

How did I edit that out of my post? Are you retarded?
And yes He does speak 5 languages not even counting what he knows in Chinese. I’m sorry you listen to what google tells you and are incapable of actually remembering and experiencing life - where his teammates SAID he goes out of his way to speak to them in their native language - Slavic (Sasha Vujacic), Mandarin (he dabbled in so he could speak to Jeremy Lin) and French (for Ronny Turiaf) included.

Yeah he learned some so he could converse with Jeremy Lin. I remember around 2008-2009 a segment where Kobe’s former teammates talked about it. He spoke French with Turiaf, Slavic with Vujacic, Spanish with Gasol. He later started learning Mandarin because of he’s large China market and playing with Lin.
He grew up speaking Italian and English.

Yeah I'm gonna guess he's at best beginner level in Serbian maaaaaaaybe conversational in French. Also Chinese isn't a language I doubt he can speak even say a basic sentence in Mandarin off the cuff, learning that is basically a full time job.
