Kobe is really getting close to Lebron's legacy. Kobe could reach Lebron's greatness if he stays in the league for another 10 years and produce these numbers, imo fwiw.

I strongly detest per minute ratings. It completely eliminates the value of high mpg players

I can understand that. But comparing the per 48 to the total is interesting because it tells you something about which guys are efficient compared to which guys are playing a lot of minutes.

Also, compare the per 48. Win shares versus total win shards you posted, and which is one is closer to the top 20 list on basketball?

Most fans have no idea IMO (don't watch a large enough number of players and teams to really evaluate a lot of people). The guy that stands out as surprising on the WS/48 is probably Tiago... but in good part that's also because he's not widely paid attention to in SA (as well as the minutes played since he plays about half a game on average).

On the balance my bias is probably the PER looks more credible than WS or WS/48 when you look at the top 12 players ranked this year... but again that's just my bias.

Well that has a lot to do with bench depth and other complimentary players on the team no?

sure, and coaching decisions, and which players insist on playing more minutes, and which teams never play their bench and develop their depth to start with.

I'm sure you'll take umbrage at some of this somehow so let me start out by mentioning I think Kobe is an amazing player and him playing more minutes this year has been impressive and helped LA win more games
