UNC guard Coby White -- perhaps the fastest rising prospect on the board -- had a private workout with the Knicks at team's facility today, league sources tell ESPN. Knicks have been locked on RJ Barrett at No. 3, but summoned White after Darius Garland's workout yesterday.

FWIW I think this is all BS and smokescreens and they will just end up picking Barrett...

But can you imagine the scene in NYC at the arena if they pick White?

They brought in Garland and White for last minute work outs. I think they saw all of the buzz and offers Pels were getting at 4 and are trying to get in on that action.

Could be a wild night.

I'm just imagining all of the Knicks fans completely sold on Barrett and then hearing White or Garland's name.

To be honest, I'm not in love with Barrett. If the Knicks like Garland or White, I think they might be better off dropping back if they can snag them.

RJ was such a low percentage, high volume guy from 3 at Duke. Until that changes, I don't see him as an exceptional NBA player. He's a good, not great athlete, and scoring is his primary thing.

Barrett is a bad arse and worthy of a NO.1 overall pick. Just not in this draft. No way New York is not picking him.

Yep.

They aren't getting Zion. They didn't get Davis. They may not get, or even want, Durant now because of the injury. They likely aren't getting Irving or Leonard. Thus, they may have just decided it's better to get more picks (either to take multiple guys or use a potential trade capital) to continue the rebuild process, than settle for a guy they may not love (Barrett).

If NOLA has had the best month with the lottery and haul for AD, New York has had the worst. All their dreams of getting Zion and/or big FA's have gone up in smoke.

you are not the only one who says that.

Critique is
1. meh defender who flashes eye popping help defense
2. No pass head down drive to hole.
3. Meh outside shooting

Plus vote. Some say will be harden at his best.

Someone's really got this wrong.

If I were ny Knicks I trade down to Atlanta and get 8 and 10 and a 2nd in 2021.

He had to chuck because he was usually one of two players on the team capable of scoring, 3 if it was the rare occasion where Reddish decided to show up that night. I don't worry too much about a college player's shooting percentage. barrett also distributed and rebounded very well. He averaged 4 assists a game.

66% FT is still weak.

yea that's not excusable and it arguably cost Duke their season. But it's something that a guard should be able to improve.

I agree he's a good rebounder. I'll disagree on distribution. He had 4 apg on 3.2 to's per game and 18.5 shots a game.

Being barely above 1-1 ast/to isn't a great sign, and neither is over 5 shots and to's to every assist. He's more of an average distributor with a sky high usage.

You’re talking about a kid that just turned 19 on Monday bro

One does not teach or acquire the type of physical tools that he has

However, with age will come polish

nor I.

Saw parts of 8 or 10 duke games and ncaa tourney.

At no time did I say, wow, hes got it.

Just an average guy.

I'm sure not using #3 on him.

I don't see the overwhelming physical tools with him. He's got good size, speed, athleticism and frame, but nothing that strikes me as elite.

He doesn't have the physical tools that go beyond good into great, IMO. He didn't test at the combine, so in fairness, this is my eye test.

I have never been impressed by RJ Barrett, but readily admit that I don't know shite.
