whats wrong with saying USC is probably a top 8 team right now?
they are really good when i've seen them play. they would have beat stanford and have 1 loss if not for a shitty unnecessary roughness penalty

SEC could win the next 56 national titles and they are still gonna talk about other teams. as a media outlet they depend on viewers and have to appeal to a national audience

it's that simple. The shows jump on new teams every week because they need viewers. People across the country will get tired of an SEC overdose, regardless of how dominant the conference is.

Which is why this thread is ridiculous. Kirk says I think they are a Top 5 team right now and suddenly it becomes a Rant thread on the MSB about how ESPN believes USC should play for the national title. It's amazing what some fans infer from the outside world once it swirls around their SEC-insecure little brain. I swear, if ESPN didn't talk about USC, people on here would just make shite up like this.

Yep. I don't think there's any difference between USC and all the other 1-loss contenders. So it's fair to say they are #3 which would be the best of all the pretenders like Okie State, Stanford, VaTech. LSU is clearly the best team in the country.

I have been impressed by USC since the ASU game but to say that NOBODY wants to play them is pure hyperbole. LSU isn't afraid to play anyone and the realest statement is that NOBODY wants to play LSU right now aside from Bama.
Bama and LSU would beat USC by at least 20. USC's lack of depth on defense would show badly against those 2 teams.
Last week NOBODY wanted to play Oregon according to Herbie but they lost so now Herbie annoints the team that beat them.One day people are going to stop taking what he says seriously. He's a joke.LSU has been the most impressive team in the country all year and it's not close but yet Herbie always says we are on "upset watch". He's a human being that has biases and lets them show.

I agree...but I don't think there is anyone outside of Bama after LSU that does better than a 50/50 split out of 10 games with USC in the country right now. They have similar athletes (albeit it fewer) and an excellent qb/wr combination.

I don't think that's fair at all. That,s SC fan bias. OSU has fewer losses and has played a better overall schedule, lets not let last weekends results cloud our judgement.
