Browns take Barkley and the og.
Two "best in group" if not in entire draft..
They can pick up Minnesota's leavings at qb.

The point is he is only being pursued by a handful of teams because only a handful of teams will be willing to pay what he is going to cost

Aren't like the top 5 contracts for each team insured against injuries like him being out for the season?

I know in NHL and MLB, player has to miss x amount of games, then insurance kicks in and pays majority of the contract till he comes back.

Idk how it works League to league, but I know Prince Fielder’s injury had to be diagnosed as career ending for the Rangers to receive their insurance payout, which did happen. There was a legitimate worry that he would try to make a comeback and the team would have to continue paying out his full contract.

I’d assume there isn’t insurance if a guy just misses a year, but I may be wrong.

I remember some interesting stuff with Kobe on that.

quote:

The Lakers still must pay Bryant his entire $30.453 million salary for the 2013-14 season, and an insurance policy will cover only 15.6 percent of it ($4.75 million).

After a player misses 41 consecutive games because of an injury, the league's insurance policy kicks in. Starting with the 42nd game, the insurance pays for 80 percent of the player's salary for games missed.

Because Bryant returned in the 20th game of the season, the insurance clock stopped and then started again after he was hurt. Bryant had to be out for another 41 games, meaning the Lakers will recoup only 80 percent of Bryant's salary for the final 16 games.

The insurance policy will start to kick in next Wednesday, when the Lakers play the San Antonio Spurs

Good post.

Wonder if each league has rules regarding this or if, like Seek said, it depends on how big the contract is and if the team opts to pay for it.

Obviously if you are guaranteeing an amount as large as what has been rumored I’d expect that Minnesota would be able to insure it.

2. That's a terrible deal for the Lions.

Matt Patricia looked at the cap "situation" (which you still have not educated yourself on)... pretty sure they were at 10 overall when they tagged Ansah...and shockingly chose Detroit.

He isn't coming to coach the Lions if Jake Rudock is the QB. Of course, you've never really been a "big picture" type of guy.

As always... I suggest you learn the game, study the numbers, THEN post. ThxIA.

Yea, the cap situation and not the offer of millions of dollars, right?

What are you talking about? I'm pretty sure you have no clue, you're just randomly saying words. My entire point I've continually made about Stafford literally is about long term, you couldn't have been more wrong if you tried there.

Pretty sad if you actually are putting in all this studying of the game and numbers AND still think the Stafford deal is a good deal. I could have saved you a ton of time if you just listened to me. Ah well, I guess it'll take you a few more seasons to learn what I knew the minute the deal was signed.
