Are white people oppressed in anyway or have they ever been in this country?
Yeah every white person is born rich, handsome and athletic.
I had a feeling you wouldn’t answer because you know it’s true. Nice deflection. All lives do matter but that takes away from your agenda of silencing other races.

I guess I never picked up on this previously but what is the reason for your disdain towards the white race? You seem to have a problem with anyone that doesn’t have the same view point on race as you. Any particular reason why no one else is allowed to have differing opinions in your world view?

Another good one I have seen recently shel, is this
Surely, Lester thinks an independent movement stating the opposite would also be ok
I couldn’t imagine a world where someone would be allowed to say they are pro white and not lose their job and be outcasted

Yes let’s do it, but here’s the secret, white women benefit more from it than non white(black) groups. Funny how that works.

Hoss, there are no blurred lines when it comes to race and equality.
Everyone is equal. That is the viewpoint. There isn't any discourse to be had about different viewpoints.
That doesn't make me any less of a man or any less white.
If your first inclination is to get defensive & fight back, not give an inch, that's something you should reflect on.

Lester is a good dude, but he is one of a growing number of people that think equal opportunity isn’t reached until we see equal outcome

So all lives matter?

Nah, I don’t think that at all. That will never happen for generations, if ever.
Trying to change the viewpoint of white adult males on a southern based message board is futile.
Can only really hope to affect my own personal bubble in my everyday life. To most that reads as being this over bearing try-hard, but that ain’t it. It doesn’t take much conscious effort tbh.

But if I agree that everyone is equal and I want to be left the hell alone that is met with “your silence is oppression”. So what is it? Where am I “wrong”?

Lester and I are on our way to the riots in our “We’re so sorry” t-shirts

If you wanted to be silent you wouldn’t be up in here arguing with me, would you?
I mean if you want to sit off to the side & let this pass, so be it. But you’ve already proven you want to engage & be defensive.
And Saying “all lives matter” isn’t being silent, it’s being combative.

Wait a second. This guy lost his career for having the audacity to say that ALL lives matter? Is this the alleged secret password for the klan these days? Jesus!

Nah. I’m at work and was passing time during my lunch break. Just discussing and not trying to be combative. I work in an industry that 75% of my work force is minority. It’s not like I live in some bubble.

Are you insinuating that an independent "all lives matter" movement led by a white person would go over well?
Pretty sure it didn’t go over very well when hippies were breaching it.

Why would a group whose purpose and mission revolves around black victims of police negligence/abuse have anything to do with that?
Lol at thinking that's really their mission, and the post I was responding to asserted they didn't value black lives more than others. Police brutality is rare, but it happens to everyone, there's no evidence that blacks are singled out due to race, so they are ipso facto valuing some victims more than others

I'm all for it in its literal interpretation mate. I want all ethnicities to be appreciated and have to have equal rights. I want them to be treated fairly by law enforcement for example... which statistics indicate we do a damn strong job of in the country if you actually put on the tape and are intellectually honest about it. Obviously no one wants to do that, though, and they'd rather virtue signal with black square Insta pictures or make boomer jokes.
That said, the BLM movement has incited violence in communities, and even hostility towards law enforcement and even the assassination of law enforcement officers in communities (Baton Rouge, Houston, Dallas), based on absurd grounds (e.g. Mike Brown, Alton Sterling). So I do have a negative view of that group and its broader context, and loathe how ridiculous it is to cite police brutality in that community given all the legitimate, systemic issues that plague it.
I also think it's funny how much people have blown up on well-meaning, liberal folks inadvertently saying "All Lives Matter" over the past few years. And I'm glad people are throwing it back in their face now.

Progressives used to be awesome about free speech and bouncing around ideas you may not be comfortable with. I was actually a big DU type during Bush/Cheney. But, somehow in an era with so many mediums to communicate, they have done a great job shutting down anything the pitchfork mob doesn't like.
Yeah, yeah, I know, the Sac announcer isn't prevented from having his opinion, but he has no right to a job, this is the marketplace at work, etc., etc. Anyway, it's this kind of crap that people are upset about and got Trump elected. I just hope the twitter mobs are a vocal minority.
