what exactly has he done to you or to LSU for that matter? So he dissed UT, big deal, happens every season. Same thing saban and petrino have been doing their whole careers

you would put him above Brown, Stoops, Richt?

Hell yes. Mack Brown? Are you serious? He literally threw away a shot at the BCS Title game with his game management last December. The Big XII replay officials bailed him out on a technicality.

Stoops and Richt are more overrated than Miles was circa 2007.

When you factor in recruiting, coaching assets/allies, and upside I'd take Kiffin beneath only Saban and Meyer. He's going to continue to improve he's still a kid.

I, and everyone else can only have opinions on people that do something to me or LSU?

Anyone who truly believes Lane Kiffin is a top 3 HC in NCAA football is mentally retarded. I'm looking at you alejandro.

is one of the best offensive minds in college football,

since when?

has innumerable allies and contacts with both NCAA and NFL experience

he left USC to go to the NFL, where he flamed out and was on the raiders (not exactly the most-liked franchise)

then he went to UTenn for a year, everyone there hates him, and he went back to USC

what allies/contacts did he leave behind? certainly none in Oakland of Knoxville

quote:

What about that indicates he's less than a top 3 coach in NCAA football at this very moment?

he's done nothing to warrant this kind of praise. did you watch Utenn last year?

Stop letting ESPN talking heads tell you what to think.

It's inevitable that he's going to succeed wildly at USC

no, it's not

quote:

He's already on track to be the 2nd best recruiter in the nation,

what?

meyer and saban will not be touched anytime soon

les miles is a better recruiter than kiff

quote:

Kiffin is 100 times the gameday strategist and coach that Carroll was.

based on what?

quote:

The fact that Carroll only won 1 BCS title is one of the most under-discussed stories in recent sports.

and what has kiff won?

Do you have anything to contribute to the conversation other than petty personal jabs, emoticons, and non-pithy one liners?

do you have anything to add other than saying certain outcomes without anything to back it up?

where did I say I hated Lane Kiffen??

I'm sorry that I don't think he is a top 3 coach in college football, but I guess to you that means I hate him.

Yes. Tell me what he has done to prove he will be a good head football coach. Guess what. Les Miles is a great recruiter. His players like him. By all accounts other coaches like him. He has NFL ties. Is he a top 3 coach too?

He didn't flame out, he was the youngest coach in NFL history and took a shoot to get "NFL Head Coach" on his resume. It worked brilliantly as he parlayed that into a big time SEC HC gig. Everybody at UT loved him and you know it. The Vols overachieved and improved throughout the year, and he nabbed their best recruiting class in over a decade.

He has TONS of coaching assets. Remember he raided that coach from the Titans in freaking July and pissed off Jeff Fischer? He has more big name assistants on his staff than arguably any coach in the NCAA. And he's done all this with literally no stability. Imagine when he gets settled in at USC.

This conversation is too heated - this will take at least 4 to 5 years to play out but you guys mark my words. He will win at least 2 BCS titles (under the current format) within 9 years.

His gameday management, offensive style, talent acquisition (his recruiting plus SoCal = top 3 recruiting classes every.single.year), coaching assistants and weak conference opponents guarantee his success.

yeah he did

and like the raiders' 7th choice. he was their third choice FROM USC

they hate him now. he has no allies in the SEC. i don't see why you'd point out his allies in the SEC as a positive, when they do not exist

they had a top 5 class 4-5 years ago, broseph

not a problem (or a true positive) at USC right now due to where carroll left the program
