LAL still has 2014 and 2016 first round picks, I think.

ETA: I'd throw in the 2014 pick and do

Marion and Dirk for Bynum, MWP, and Blake

Bynum has more value than Dirk right now, so the Mavs would at least have to take on MWP's and Blake's contract

Jeremy Lin to the Rockets now?

Probably.

With Kidd coming in and Felton available as a reasonably-priced backup, there's not a huge need to overpay Lin.

That's not a legal trade under the Stepien Rules.

Since they sent 2013 and 2015 to the Suns, they can't trade 2014 or 2016 unless they have someone's picks in those years.

What kind of dro you piffin brah?

Bynum is uncoachable and Artest is a head case. Wouldn't want either unless getting a bunch of draft picks back to rebuild.

Not that losing Kidd is a big deal, but I absolutely love that Cuban is batting .000 these last few offseasons

Bynum is the 2nd best C in the League. And he is 24.

Dirk is 34.

You have at least 8 more years of Bynum, whereas Dirk only has a max of 3 to 4 years left

Agreed.

But his knees will turn to cornmeal by the time he is 28.

Therefore, I want picks, not players for Dirk.

Think about it this way, if the Magic had the option of trading Dwight for Dirk or Bynum, they are taking Bynum

If the only piece involved is the player coming back, the Magic take Bynum in a walk.

If the Mavs agree to eat some shitty contracts in exchange for getting Howard, such as Turkoglu, Duhon, J-Rich, etc., the Magic have to think twice about the deal.

Cap flexibility and/or the ability to minimize the luxury tax could be a big thing for them considering the RFA offers that Ryan Anderson is getting that they are hesitant to match.

So then you'd agree that Bynum has more value than Dirk

It depends on what a team needs. The Lakers get Dirk would = a bad move IMO. To many guys who need the Ball. A reminder of the 2004 season for the Lakers. Of course the Magic would take Bynum, But he would still be the same player, A lazy guy who depends on great players around him to make him look as good as he does. He would not have this in Orlando.

I'd love to see a

Nash
Kobe
Marion
Dirk
Pau

I'd take that over any team in the league for the next 2 years

up until now, Bynum hasn't had a great distributer on his team.

Kobe is Kobe
Gasol is a good passing big, but the offense doesn't run thru him.

not a valid point PEEJ

OK. I will give ya that by default. This ISN'T a Centers league anymore. But he hasn't shown up in the playoffs last two years.

You would have the same thing as you did in 2004. Too many All-stars and only ONE ball. Thats why the Pistons creamed them.
