Kevin Martin has the 14th best PER in the league. MVP candidate Derrick Rose is 13th, FWIW.

Zach Randolph has completely dominated Kevin Love every time they faced off this year.
Dude managed to get his 10 and 10 with about 4 minutes left in the game while the grizzlies scrubs were on the floor.
Kevin Love is solid, but he's a bit overrated IMO.

Kevin Martin is probably underrated, but I wouldn't call him the most underrated player in the league because he still is not the leader of the Rockets. Even with Aaron Brooks hurt for a good period of time and now gone, the leadership role has gone to Kyle Lowry and believe it or not Chuck Hays... Martin, a very impressive offensive player and sneaky athletic is not defensively inclined. I feel sorry for Rick Adelman.

That 37 and 23 he put up last night just screams overrated.

Actually PortCityTiger24, Kevin Martin's performance during this playoff series(05-06 Western Conference opening round) (his only mind you) wasn't what gave the Kings a fighting chance, it was Bonzi Wells.
Kevin Martin 32MPG 13.2 PPG 5 RPG .5 APG .407 FG .316 3P%
Bonzi Wells 41.5 MPG 23.2 PPG 12 RPG(4ORPG)1.3 APG .609 FG% (also he 6-5, 2inches shorter than Kevin Martin)
Also, in Both of Sac Towns wins Kevin Martin was was held under 15 pts.

Sweet he lead the Timberwolves to their 14th win over a team whose best big man is David Lee.
Love is solid, but there are better PF's.
Right now.
Zach Randolph is better than Kevin Love.

kevin martin plays about as much defense as ray allen or d-fisher (who may try hard, but absolutely sucks at defense)
For some reason though, Ray plays Kobe well

Him and Shawn Marion compete for the ugliest shot in the NBA

Kevin Martin is a phenomenal scorer. I love watching him play. I don't know about most underrated though. I think that one goes to Zach Randolph.
I don't know if you can exactly call Kevin Love "underrated." The media has been all over him all season, comparing him to Blake Griffin, and such.

kinda like a Ray Allen
quote:allen works his arse off on D. he may not be great, but lord, he tries. allen also benefits from exceptional team D(prob lesser now without perkins) with bigs in the middle to help block the rim. but thats just the way it goes sometimes.
kevin martin plays about as much defense as ray allen
everyone needs to stop acting like hes the 2nd coming of bruce bowen on defense. hes widely regarded as a below average defender around the league. if he doesnt like it, he should check his guy every night. yall should stop defending him with perceived equals around the league

Maybe not the most overrated player, but I think D West is in the top 5-10.

Randolph scores less while taking more shots than Kevin Love. Kevin Love shoots better from three (Randolph is awful from 3, Love is great), Love shoots more FTs and is better from the line, Love rebounds better, and assists better, as well.
Love's PER > Randoplh's PER.
ALL of this is because Kevin Love plays on a shitty team? No. This is all because Kevin Love is better than Zach Randolph.

Bump so TouchdownTN can tell me how Randolph is better than Kevin Love.

Zach Randolph is one of those players who puts up stats but does nothing to help his team win.
He's a black hole on offense and doesn't play post defense as well as he should with his frame.
The most underrated player in the NBA is Russell Westbrook. Sure, he made the all-star game and gets talked about, but he is on the Rose/Rondo/Williams level. He gets shadowed by Kevin Durant.

I think it may be Steve Nash. He gets way less attention than he should and he is just still right up there with the best point guards. He is leading a pretty mediocre team to a winning record in the West.

In their two games head to head this year.
Game 1
23 Points 13 Rebounds 2 Assists 2 Steals 1 Block PER - +23
10 Points 10 Rebounds 2 Assists 1 Steal 1 Block - PER - (-17)
Game 2
24 Points 10 Rebounds 5 Assists PER - +10
15 Points 11 Rebounds 2 Assists 1 Steal 1 Block PER - (-7)
Tell me who is who? Oh and in both those games Kevin Love kept his double double streak alive because the grizzlies where up by so much he was playing against Hamed Haddadi the entire 4th quarter.
