Well, Kevin had me more than concerned last night. Where was he in the 4th quarter?

Defending Gobert and hitting the clinching free throws.

Take up your beef with NBC sports. Team USA Captains are typically dubbed that.

Regardless you Stephen A. Smith sycophants ignore the journey of dominating basketball after the most devastating injury in sports.

Personal opinions about KD aside, those are great pics, especially in today’s take a knee climate.

Props to him for embracing the flag and not shitting on it

Durant hardly saw the ball in the 4th quarter. The French made their way back because of it. That free throw occurred with 8 seconds left in the game.

Kevin was the guy that needed to bring the team home last night. He often just doesn't want to step on the head of the snake. It almost cost us again.

Wut? Dude had the greatest playoff performance of all time and the difference between the title this years were his toes on the line.

Kevin Durant has 3 Gold Medal games where he goes for 30.

He’s a clutch performer know matter how you slice.

He led Team USA to Gold in the Olympics. Celebrate him. We’re all on the same team.

You demand that ball in the 4th. He DIDN'T want it and was happy to watch teammates hold on. That's not what the greatest of the great do. That was a bad moment and a bad look. Durant had other bad moments early on as well at the olympics and they have been well documented on these threads.

Yikes. You clearly didn’t watch him create open looks for Bam, Jrue, etc.

Great players do all things.

And again, when they needed the points he got it.

1st player ever with 3 Olympic tourney with 100 points.

Jordan Robinson Durant Melo. Top 4 Otlmpians for Team USA.

Baloney and you know it. Durant also watched the lead shrink in front of his very eyes just like the rest of us. He still showed zero interest in demanding the ball. This was even more amazing to me given how hot he was to start the game.

There are always watershed moments in every big game when the greatest just shine, cause they are the greatest. That was for gold and he's watching his teammates trying to bring it home, missed shot after missed shot, after missed shot. Ridiculous!

Baloney my arse. His co captain threw the ball away, he got Gobert to foul out, he created multiple open looks off the high pick and roll.

Dude balled out and hit the clinching free throws.

He takes those shots and plays in the 4th quarter with the confidence he started the game with, the USA wins by 15, at least. No freakin' need for last-second free throws. Free throws, man you are reaching for this guy's big Olympic closeup.

You’re reaching to take his shine.

Fact is he’s the only player ever to do what he did

And free throws? Whenever have they ever matter

*checks notes*

Ask Giannis
quote:

Kevin Durant is exactly who we thought he was," said Draymond Green, who won two titles with him in Golden State as well as the 2016 Olympic gold. "He's one of the greatest players to ever play this game. One of the most special guys you've ever seen lace their shoes up and take a basketball court."

This is the guy who once told Durant that he didn’t need him.

KD has scored more points for USA Olympic basketball than any other player. Now that's patriotic.

This. We won GOLD. Like we do.Separate the fandom from the Olympics lol. It’s all love, but we want our Gold in basketball every year. And KD played when not everyone else would(can’t blame injury concerns over $). I don’t even watch the nba but KD is top tier. Don’t laugh at a happy millionaire.

I don’t have any beef. I just made a funny joke. There is no need to be upset.

Too bad he couldn't be the undisputed leader on a team that brought home the gold for his country. Nope. He was a just a dude who rode pine the one year he went and then quit b/c he was too lazy to try again.
