In the non racing world, you’ll eventually have to go into a horse’s joints for maintenance as they age if they are competitive on any level. I don’t jump mine much between shows because I’m trying to prolong not having to inject his hocks because once you start, you are stuck. It’s generally a once a year thing, but sometimes becomes twice a year.

These horses start having their joints hit at 2 and a lot of times
before every race. One of the things I really hate about racing. It all basically comes down to the breed to sell model and needing lightning fast two year olds. Fashionable sires like into mischief sell for a lot, but the maintenance is needed to keep them sound. They now say injections must be given 14 days out and reported, but they’ll never get rid of them.

Y’all have a lot of Justify babies over there now. His mom has never produced a sound horse. I believe he’ll pass that on so you’ll probably start seeing more breakdowns over there.

Frankel will be king on these shores for a long time, his horses stay sound and win at 2/3/4 and are producing good offspring of their own - Golden Horn even becoming a bit of a NH sure too (the true sport of kings!)

Has Leon won a race since? The trainer is 3%. I still lmao about the after burners reference. God, some of you really know nothing about racing.

I don't claim to know everything or to be the most knowledgeable. I do love the sport and love watching it though. I know Rich Strike isn't even close to being the best Derby winners. But as far as excitement goes, that was one of my all time favorite races. If the rest of the horses fell back, ok, not going to blame him for hitting his stride when others fall back.

But I'll make sure I stay out of the horse racing threads from now on so it can stay just a handful of people talking about it and so I don't step on anyone's toes by saying something nice about a horse you might have a personal vendetta against.

I try to follow a good bit of international racing when I can. I’m pretty excited Jamie is bringing his over for the Preakness and I like following his daughter. I had toast to win the breeders cup last time he shipped over.

Check out I’ll have another derby and Preakness wins. One of my favorite runs, I just wish he wouldn’t have been hurt and could have made the Belmont.

I have an I’ll have another hat.

I fully believe he would have won the Belmont. Being by flower alley, he’d have run for days.

To this day he is the only derby future I’ve cashed

My favorite horse of all time was also my favorite Preakness of all time: Sunday Silence

BS! People want to watch something that doesn't have whiny spoiled athletes complaining and love horses. The tradition alone of the Derby is worth the watch.
