I’ve been to around 20. You have to decide what your priorities are ahead of time because you can’t do and see everything in one day. The atmosphere with 150,000 people is a cool experience. If you want to bet, the best plan is to handicap the night before, decide what you want to bet, then place all of those bets as soon as you get there. That eliminates the biggest complaint bettors have of standing in line at the windows. Assuming you’ve done that, take a walk through the paddock, a brief trip through the infield, and pace yourself, it’s a long day.

If you're in the infield, you might not even see a horse except on the big screen.

Don’t place a bet this first time you are there.. just watch and learn.

Bought a package with all drinks/meals included on the first turn. Supposedly it’s right along the rail.
Have tickets to the Kentucky Oaks the day before as well, so going to go both days.

The app doesn’t work because the 200,000 plus extra cell phones in the area overwhelm the cell system
