Not with today’s rules..... put a team from now back in the 80’s and they would get crushed by how physical it was..... played didn’t fall on the floor crying like a bitch in those days....
Well, it gets calls today.

I like my players to have that win at all costs mentality. Idk what weak mentality you like.

80s teams would get waxed bc they cannot shoot the 3. It would turn into a math problem and today’s teams would win every time. Almost of the greatest and most efficient offenses in league history are from recent years. It is the daryl morey effect.

Unwatchable.

This is a laughably bad take by someone who clearly doesn't watch the NBA or doesn't know anything about basketball.

The skill level of the players in the league is at an all time high. Shot selection quality is emphasized probably more so than it ever has been in the past. The athletes in the league are better than they've ever been.

If the "Muh nostalgia" crowd went back and actually watched 90's basketball, they would be horrified. It was ugly.

I disagree with Boom a lot on here but he's dead on. The best 80's and 90's teams would struggle with the best teams of today's era. Doesn't matter what rules you choose to play with - 3 is still worth more than 2.

Pretty remarkable it took people making a lot of money so long to learn a very simple math equation.

It all goes on cycles. It is just extremely rare to be super tall, athletic and proportional. Those guys are identified and spoiled so early that they never learn how to work and are not challenged. You see it over and over.

Take Mitchell Robinson or Moses Brown. All the size and talent in the world. But they don't have to heart or desire to become great players.

People are going to hate this, but guys are better off going to school 3-4 years, especially big men. Colleges do a better job of developing players and getting guys ready for the league.

Players today are too soft. 80's players would eat them alive.

People love to say this, but teams today would absolutely dominate teams from yesteryear. The median talent level is so much higher now than it was in the 80s and 90s.

Yes. So many better players today than in the 1980's. Jordan and Bird couldn't hang with Lebron and Harden.

Of the best, say, 10 bigs in the league, how many went to college? How many were there for more than 1 year?

McHale started to shoot 3s late in his career. I remember it was a big deal that a big guy was putting up 1-2 3s a game. He even shot 40% from 3 in 1990. I think he could have adjusted his game.

Harden being a statistically better player than both magic and bird shows how much more efficiently the game is played these days.. it is why today’s teams would beat teams from the 80s. it’s a numbers game.

Harden would not last a half a season back in the 80’s and early 90’s......
