I think Fields would be years ahead of Kap as far as pocket passer.

Of course but that's a really low bar

I don’t get why one must conclude Lawrence is without question the best QB.

I don't either, when it comes to tight-window throws and being under pressure I have not seen anything great from Lawrence. Teams just love measurables, athleticism.

It's like every year around draft time we forget that most of the high-end QB's in the league over the past 20 years are more like Mac Jones than Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields.

What does this even mean?

All 3 were top 10 in completion %, top 12 in Y/A, and top 12 in passer rating. Fields was also top 12 in all 3 of those stats in 2019.

Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields are pocket passers who just happen to be more athletic than Mac Jones. All 3 of them can make all the throws.

1. 20 years ago is irrelevant to today.

2. 20 years ago they still loves 6’3” plus guys with big arms.

What do you think Fields, Jones, Lawrence, Wilson, Mond, Trask, Mills, and Lance are?

You can add Franks and Ramsey in that group and they are all day 3 picks.

Not sure if you’ve looked at the league recently, but that’s not really the case anymore

Brady and Rodgers are the only two guys in the top 10 that don’t have some dual threat element to their game and even Rodgers can scoot out of trouble in the pocket here and there

I’m pointing out that both irrelevant and just wrong.

Well it is not irrelevant and wrong if the NFL wants QB's that are 6'3" with rocket arms which this class is full of and why they are all going so high (potentially)

Unless I am completely misinterpreting your last part of the post (and I probably am) it seems you are saying they do not want those guys.

No it’s an irrelevant arguement to say “the QBs of the last 20 years looked like Jones”

When the QBs of now look like Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen.

And it’s wrong to say they looked more like Jones when Lawrence is essentially a prototype QB.

Yeah Jones is could have definitely thrown 215 yards and 3 TDS to Chris Olave against Alabama’s defenses

That’s a reasonable take.

I know you always want to back your guy, but the whole argument is that 10 of your other guys were so fricking good Mac Jones looked like a star.

When did Olave, Garrett Wilson, Master Teague, and Jeremy Ruckert become chopped liver? Thats one of the best skill position groups in CFB.

1. Olave would have been the fourth best WR on Alabama’s team maybe. He’s not on the same planet as Smith.
2. Teague is the second best RB on their Team. Comparing him to Harris is a joke.

And Harris and Smith combines for 6 TDS in that game. Including 4/5 receiving TDS.

Arguably Metchie.

Why do you speak in absolutes about shite that isn’t going to happen? Mac Jones is going to be a first round pick at QB and you don’t think he’ll be a starter in the NFL at any point? Dumbass.

Well now you can’t be his GM so think about that!

lol what? You think Slade fricking Bolden might be better than Olave? Not to mention Jaylen Waddle could barely walk and Smith was knocked out of the game on the 2nd play of the half. Maybe Metchie is better who knows. Olave by most predictions was a late-1st early second round guy before he decided to come back

Tell my why I’m wrong?

Olave isn’t coming back for a 4th year with a because he’s some elite prospect.

Olave would likely be a second rounder this year. I don't even know if Metchie would be drafted.

I can only assume Olave feels he can go in the first round next year. This is a very deep draft of receivers.
