Well words have meaning. If he thinks Mac won’t be a longtime starter that’s one thing, but he literally said Mac would not be a starter in the NFL. Even Josh Rosen was a starter for a season. If you’re a first round QB you’re going to get a shot.

Eta and Tyrod Taylor and nick foles? The men who have made multiple starts for multiple different teams? And one wins a championship as a starting qb?

Mac Jones is the most overated QB that I have seen in years.... he was basically playing on a team that really had no equal last year.... that’s not gonna work in the NFL.

So was Lawrence and Fields until the playoffs when they were playing each other.

Odd, that ONLY Mac Jones still looked like he was playing men among boys.

I mean OSU couldn’t stop anyone’s passing game last season. Add in the loss of 2 of their top DL with covid protocols and OSU wasn’t holding Bama under 40 no matter what

OSUs pass defense last year is not a good gauge at all. They ran an fing 4-4 against Bama because they had no confidence in their secondary. Yep 3 DBs against 3/4 wrs and Harris

Problem was that Justin Field couldn't hit the simple stuff in the NC game. BAMA had 2 teams go up and down the field last season for the entire game against our defense. Ohio State wasn't one of them. Ole Miss and Florida were.

Acting like there would be a different result if you flipped Fields/Jones in the NCG is hilarious.

I'm telling you that Justin Field could not execute against BAMA's defense as well as Matt Corral and Kyle Trask. His games against NorthWestern and Indiana would give me even more room for serious pause as an NFL staff.

Unless you think going 12 for 27 for 114 yards and 2 picks is how you show out in a B1G championship game?

Ahh yes, the transitive property argument is always flawless.

So we're doing that thing where we use 1 or 2 games to define someone's entire body of work? In an odd season where they had multiple pauses?

He was great in Clemson game, though, dropping deep dimes off his back foot while getting pressure. So, who knows. I think Mac is rock solid, I just probably would not pull the trigger at 3. If you like him, take Trask, which I think is about the same thing.

I don’t claim to be a pro scout. But he seems like a major bust. I was hoping the Falcons would draft him.

Nothing transitive about those NFL defenses. His production against Indiana, Northwestern, and BAMA is hardly the stuff of mythology.

They only played 7. 3 crappy games out of 7? 2 of them you had the far superior talent. Field's is the only mythology in this discussion.

You played your hand when you said Fields couldn't execute and make simple throws in the NCG. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Here's a link to every NCG dropback

There are only 3 simple throws in that game he missed.
-The crossing route to Wilson in the 1st quarter.
-The dump pass to Teague in the 2nd.
-The redone pass to Fleming late in the 4th.

Fields is Cam coming out of college - big dudes with big arms but all the college film is one-read progressions. I don’t think that’s what Shanahan wants.

I think Lance or Jones is higher on their board and they panicked into the #3.

Why do you speak in absolutes about shite that isn’t going to happen? Mac Jones is going to be a first round pick at QB and you don’t think he’ll be a starter in the NFL at any point? Dumbass

1st round flame outs at QB happen all the time, baw. Go look. Just b/c you're selected in the first round doesn't automatically make you a starter or that you'll remain a starter.

And you're the one calling me a dumbass.

Check the rivals and 24/7 list? It wasn't because of the stars under the helmet.
