Glad somone got that. Kinda makes this look tame in comparison. Protesters were a common site on gameday during the LL years. I was still suprised to see JB though.

Does the OP have a Problem with Ray Lewis being on the sidelines for the Ravens?

Cant the league suspend someone for off the field incidents? I mean they suspended Roethlisberger and he wasn't even charged with a crime.

R-God gave Pac Man a year for a crime he wasn't charged for, that's not to defend Jones, he was an xtreme knucklehead.

Good for them.

He paid bail and should be allowed to try to continue his life until his hearing.

So would it have been a good idea for Penn State to invite Jerry Sandusky back to their campus while he was out on bail?

Donte Stallworth, Ray Lewis, Leonard Little, and Brent...all allowed at games and killed people. Sean Payton is accused of doing something not even half as bad and it's unproven thus far and he can't be on the sidelines. Hmm...just sayin...

Well, Sandusky was not even employed by them. That is a wildly different scenario.

His irresponsibility was directly responsible for his best friend's death. Allegedly or not, why should he be afforded any courtesy at all ? His culpability in the "accident" is not in question.

Bad PR decision by the Cowboys.

I liked Cowherd's take on the situation.

The last thing Brent probably wants to do is be alone after something like this.

The courts will have their day to judge him... in the meantime, Brent is still a human and needs support.

The distraction of being amongst teammates and being at a game might be just what he needs right after such a horrible event.

I thought that was really weird too but then they said something on TV about how Jerry Brown's mother asked the team to do that and support him.

If this is true, I have no problem with it. My concern would be with how Josh Brown's family would feel about it.

He is out on bail for intoxication manslaughter from the accident he was involved in. I just find it really weird that he was on the sidelines while his buddy died in the accident while he was driving.
This has to a NFLPA situation!

According to most people on this site, it was Brown's fault he was killed because he got into the car with a drunk guy.

Do teams usually distance themselves from players guilty of a misdemeanor?

This is without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever read on these boards.

While all true, you cannot deny Brown's culpability as well.

If I had 2 really good friends, and this scenario played out with the 2 of them, I wouldn't shun my one friend who was the driver, I would do the complete opposite, just like the Cowboys are doing.

That's a very admirable attitude but who knows what was said between the two before they drove off? "hey man, you had some drinks in there - you okay to drive?". "yeah, I'm good."

Everyone knows there are many impaired drivers on the road at 3:00 a.m. in particular areas. If your two friends were stone sober and chose to be on the road at that time, with full knowledge that drunks would be out, and Brent crossed the center line and killed your two friends, would you be as supportive?

Not knocking your opinion, just surprised at how many people aren't faulting the guy who actually (allegedly) broke multiple laws.

But the problem with your theory IMO, is that the Cowboys aren't the person killed by my 2 stone cold sober friends, the Cowboys are "me" the friend, if that makes any sense lol.

I wouldn't be rational of Brent struck the car of anyone in my family and i certainly wouldn't be supporting the Cowboys decision to have him on teh sideline if he hit an innocent person in another car.

I just think that Downs choosing to get in and take that ride is a completely different scenario.

Like I was saying, if those 2 guys were my personal friends or your personal friends, would you choose to not support your friend Brent in any way at all? I don't think anyone here would really do that.

Jerry Browns mom called Jerry Jones and explicitly asked that he let Josh Brent on the sidelines for the game. It isn't like he intentionally murdered the guy. In fact it seems like they were very good friends, I'm sure he feels horrible and will have to deal with killing one of his friends for the rest of his life, as well as most likely go to prison.
Also since he isn't one of the top players in the league ala Vick, Stallworth, Plaxico, Ray Lewis, ect... His football career is very likely over because of this.

I'm sure he wants to be there for his teammates, his teammates want to be there for him, and Jerry Browns own family wants the organization to be there for Josh; I don't see the problem
