Controversial quarterback Johnny Manziel remains a free agent, but in a pair of social media posts Monday, he expressed determination to earn a new lease on life in the NFL. Manziel released the following video on his Instagram account and made it clear he isn't ready to call it a career:

You all write about a day in my life and what goes on...here it is. No secrets, no hiding, I''m not what you read about. I'll be back... In time. It can't end like this...it won't. I love you all even though your comments suck.

If he is actually clean, I hope he stays that way. Isn't fun watching someone destroy themself.

You have no idea.

Hes a huge douche, but im rooting for him to get it together. I spiraled with a fraction of the pressure hes had. I cant imagine being in his position. I might have never quit.

Lot of good talk after a lot of fricking up.

Step in the right direction, but he has a WAYS to go before he's out of the woods. Wish him the best but he'd better make a conscious commitment to running with a better crowd that will hold him accountable for his actions and his image.

Even if he's clean he's still a smallish QB with bad accuracy and likes to scramble too much. He's a smaller Tim Tebow with drug issues. He peaked at A&M and never had a chance even without the personal demons.

I don't care one bit whether or not he plays again. I don't think anyone expects him to be an NFL QB again

Actually I've rather enjoyed watching him fall apart. Dude was giant douchebag, and I find his failure entertaining. He had every chance in the world given to him to be successful. He had to actually try to be as big a frick up as he is.

ETA: Lots of Aggies on the MSB today apparently. Truth hurts.

When you act like a douchebag, what do you expect dumbass?

Hopefully he rights his ship although he'll still be an NFL bust.

As a fan, I hope that he gets cleaned up and gets another chance a starting job.

I hope he is great and performs at a pro-bowl level while leading his team to the playoffs......

..and then has a complete relapse/meltdown, costing his team the season, and ending up in jail.

Nothing personal against him, but that would be a great story and very entertaining to watch unfold...

...and after all, football is entertainment.

It could begin again and end in Canada if he chooses and I think that would be fine for him (if he could pull that off)

And at the same time he's saying this he also said that he's not giving up drinking. As if the two are not related. According to his own best friend from h.school, he's been screwing up since h.school & has always gotten away with it. Add up the yrs: going on what, 6-7 yrs now he's been partying? Sorry, he's had his chances & has chosen over & over again to ignore his family & friends & a few professional peers.

I'm assuming you have never watched a game sober if you actually believe that.

He was never that good. Scramble around, throw up a prayer and hope Mike Evans bails him out.

Still sounds like he's got some maturing to do. Can't let that get to you.. no need to even comment on the comments..

These are all just words, he has made similar claims before.. I do wish for good comebacks though..
