My buddy was a College tennis coach. When Mary Joe Fernandez was #4 in the world, she practiced with his men's team. She lost to his #5 player 6-0, 6-0.....and to his #6 player 6-1, 6-0.

It's like Pat Summitt getting intramural guys to practice against her great teams. You people need to get a reality check.

Reminds me of when people were talking about the women's soccer team playing the guys after the World Cup. They lose to good 15 year old high school teams.

Nobody cares she drops F Bombs and acts like she is always fighting demons during her matches and pours on unnecessary drama meant to get attention because she is black and it would be racist to have an opinion about her gutter mouth and antics. Its the whole PC thing. She has no class and nobody will miss her when she retires.

He's right. There is a 30 for 30 about womens equality, pay, blah blah blah. The best men would beat the best women every time. It's not a slight on women, just that nature has taken care of things. Bigger, stronger, faster. Billie Jean King beat an over the hill, washed up semi-pro in Bobby Riggs. Had she played Jimmy Connors or Nastase she would have been brutalized. We wont ever see the day where women's sports are viewed as a whole the same as men. Again, not a slight, just the way it is

If she could beat him it is only due to his age and decline of agility and speed. They are probably even though.

She even got the doubles court.

Technically only half the doubles court. And he got only single serves.

Jimmy was 40 and she was 35.

Only one sport that women beat men on a semi-regular basis in Ultramarathoning. Once you get up to the 50-mile mark, the differences in male and female bodies even out.

Mac wins in straight sets.

I watched that match with my family. Been saying this forever, he was tanking, plain and simple, hitting putaways right back to her or dumping them in the bottom of the net. It was obvious to any tennis player watching.

I could see that but only bc women have more fat and can use that as a fuel source. Even then the chance would be low

He sure would beat her.

Serena just got curb stomped by the #42 women's player.

Vinci was the lowest-ranked (No. 42). She had the weakest won-lost record (30-20) and had the fewest career titles to her name (9) -- none of them earned since 2013.

How would losing to Serena be losing to a woman?

McEnroe doesn't really give a shite whether he could beat her. He's still an immature attention whore who just wants people to talk about him.

Mission accomplished.

Sure she did. Just a few months before his match with King, Riggs actually played the #1 ranked women's tennis player in the world and beat the shite out of her.

quote:

Riggs first challenged Billie Jean King, but when she declined, Margaret Court stepped in. At the time Court was 30 years old and the top female player in the world. On the day of their match, May 13, 1973, 5000 fans came to Mother's Day match in Ramona, California. Bobby Riggs came out on court and presented Margaret Court with Mother's Day flowers; which she accepted and curtsied.[3] During the match, Riggs used his drop shots and lobs to keep Court off balance. His 6–2, 6–1 victory[4] landed Riggs on the cover of both Sports Illustrated and Time magazine. [5][6]

Does anyone really think that McEnroe wouldn't beat Serena after seeing the way that Vinci used her slices, off-pace shots, and drop shots to beat Serena yesterday? And considering that almost a third of Sereena's GS matches this year have gone to third sets with so many average tiered players, why would anything think that Serena would just blast McEnroe?
