I surely don't know enough to condemn him to hell an hour after he dies. Sandusky? yes, Paterno? don't really know.
so you've read ALL the Sandusky reports and can condemn him for his actions ,but haven't read enough to know that Paterno ignored and covered up and deserve condemnation for his acts,,even though they aren't as violent as Sandusky's they are in their own way just as disgusting

But, but, but.........he made students go to class and he won a lot of football games!

Great coach, but I can't help but think his legacy has been permanently tarnished. RIP Paterno.
Yeah - this is sad in so many ways.
Throughout most of my college football fandom, except for LSU, Joe Pa was the one football coach I admired - for the apparent discipline on his team and his apparent decency.
To hear that in his latter years he allowed this festering obscenity to grow under his oversight - and even to cover up for the perp perv, is just incompatible with my view of the man.
He is gone now, RIP - but no tears.

Ok how long before we start to hear the media members start to say the stuff that every one else thinks. That he was a coach that put his legacy over a little boy getting fricked in a shower. Not this dick sucking feast on ESPN.

If someone reported to you that a co worker of yours was involved in an under privileged children's charity....and had been seen, naked, with boys on more than one occassion, would you just report it then never think about it again?
Even if you knew he was continuing to use your work facilities for alone time with kids?
What if the guy was creepy and old like sandusky?

Unless you are telling me google search will give me a result that Paterno is actually a child rapist too I don't know what your point is.
Ive already said I believe Paterno didn't do enough, and that he did fail in that situation.

Just as disgusting...not sure I can go there and I guess that's what leads to the difference in opinion

Maybe in 02, but sandusky "retired" long before that because they knew what he was doing, yet they still allowed his access to the facilities.

yeah I'm not big on guys that rape boys

I've read several different versions of the story, which one should I believe? I quit caring to be honest. Sandusky raped some kids, went to jail. Paterno was fired, fine. Do I think Paterno was raping kids or willingly allowing his friends to rape kids, no I really don't. Do I care either way? no

You think that's the only good in life he did?
When you die what good things will they say you accomplished in your life?
The guy doesn't have to cure cancer to have done good deeds

Sure I'd report it. If I reported it and nothing happened and then I didn't spend the rest of days fighting for justice would that make me a child rapist?

jerry thinks joe did alot of good, allowing him to bring a kid on his last road trip and still letting him use psu buildings unsupervised with kids.

That's what they're saying on ESPN right now.

Not sure yet. I know one thing that won't be able to say though.

I don't know how to feel about this to be honest.

He couldve prevented little boys from being raped though. But cared more about himself and penn state. No good deeds he did can erase that fact.

well good for Jerry, not sure how that is applicable to my post though

What good things did he do that are more meaningful than what he "didnt" do? I would love to know.
