I am sorry that a great man died of cancer
I know he died with a guilty conscience

They were all worried about the rep of the program and they ignored the damage done to these kids

Penn State stuck their head in the sand and paterno was the biggest ostrich of them all

It's all Joe Paterno's fault I suppose, not the fault of the assistant coach who actually saw the act, or the higher ups who decided to keep it under wraps.

It's all Joe's fault because he didn't do enough......wow

Plenty of blame. Joe Pa deserves every bit if his share. He was the head guy. He ran Penn State. He had nothing to lose but face and he didn't do anything. He reported to his "superiors" and they didn't do anything then he should have called the police. He has admitted his wrong doing, i don't understand how anyone can defend him.

i think there is a middle ground between defending him and be happy that he is dead and wishing he rot in hell.

Well, I'm not happy he's dead. He deserved to see this scandal through. The victims are living with it, he should have as well. And I don't believe in heaven and hell after death. His hell was short and sweet.

It's a shame about the old man. He led a storied life. He almost got out of it unblemished.

I'm glad the Founding Fathers of our country and the thousands of men and women who have died for our country, our freedom, and our right to post our thoughts on an internet message board didn't feel the same way and take the easy route or 'do nothing' as you have suggested.

"BUT HE DID SOMETHING ,,, he reported it to the admin,, its their fault"

ignoring that paterno himself has admitted he should have folowed up and ask more questions

but,, he won a LOT of football games so frick the kids,, they were prolly asking for it anyway

Exactly, true sants never given into beaurocrisy at any point. By doing so and not activly pursueing the man based on what one man said at the time, he falsly represented himself to all of us.

Which is why we must cast stones at this liar even past his death.

I get tired of the "all he's done for college football" routine; what about what he DIDN'T DO when a known sex offender was raping kids in his showers?

Too bad there's not a hell for him to go to.

I see a lot of people saying Paterno covered it up.
I'm trying to see the cover up.
He told the President of Penn State as he is required by law.
He told the head of campus police. Who hold's jurisdiction on campus.
If he went to the state police.
For people not from PA.
The Barracks is known as PSP Rockview. Right outside Rockview penitentiary. Which just so happens to be just about 3 miles from Beaver Stadium.
For the Bama fans who came up this fall do you remember the only mall in State College. Called the Nitanny Mall right in front of Walmart and Sam's club. Go about 1 mile down the road from there and your at the barracks.
Same thing for the SCPD. What makes anyone think that those young men raised to believe Paterno is the greatest thing to happen to their sleepy little cow town since sliced bread, would not have tried to cover it up.
Their love for Paterno and Penn State is as great as any Bama fan has for Bear and Bama who just happened to grow up 2 minutes from campus.
The man admitted he should have done more and didn't.
Why though isn't there the same hate for McQeuary for seeing the pervert in action.
This is a man who by his own testimony to the GJ saw it walked away called his father went to his father's house then told Paterno the next day.
The same man who now has the DA worried because he gave Sandusky's lawyer ammo because he sent an email out to his friends stating he actually did something in direct conflict with his testimony to the GJ.
Remember Paterno for the mistakes he made and the good he had done. Just remember no matter what your saying nothing is gonna change how he felt about it himself. Self loathing is the greatest kind of loathing.

LULZ. He was not known before all this happened, only the die hard Penn State fan knew who he was.

He was not a sex offender on the sex offender registry. Do you even know what that means?

Only way I could understand what you're talking about is in the hindsight sense after Sandusky is a convicted sex offender and that still doesn't even make any sense because he hasn't been convicted yet.

LULZ.

Shut the frick up and get out of here. They knew the piece of shite that Sandusky is.

You're only a sex offender if you're registered? Slamming a kid in the arse doesn't count?

Go jerk off JoePa's carcass.

I'm just saying Joe Pa made a grave mistake and he fessed up to it.

I understand that him not doing enough causes anger in some people and it should.

But people saying he can rot in hell and piss on his grave........I mean come on now.

You would think Joe Pa molested those kids from the comments made.

If you're talking about Penn State brass, Paterno and McQueary, No argument from me there.

What my problem was that you said is that he was a KNOWN SEX OFFENDER.

Do you even realize what that means?
