And as other posters stated… the state would have a potential issue at trial arguing manslaughter
So he takes a plea deal with 10 years and a lot of that is time served. He’s prob out in a year or two.

I think the question at the time was did McKnight attempt to open the car door. McKnight was an idiot for attempting to deal with the situation, both were idiots for their driving, but nobody deserved to die based on the facts that came out. I'm not sure on the legal definitions so I honestly have no idea if 10 years was enough.
