, whose to say they wouldnt have scored a TD if they needed to, they had worn the chargers D down

Clearly the Chargers would not have attempted an onside kick with the lead, they also would have tried to kill more clock if they only needed 1 score to win.

At least admit 2 is a horrible number for college, thanks.

4 would be my preference, more than that is not really necessary

I agree that 4 most years is more than enough, but really to me 2 has been plenty a lot of times.

The real problem with a playoff scenario is that as soon as you open that door people will always want to let more teams in. There are people who seriously want 128 teams in the NCAA tournament

Name one person whose opinion you would give any credence at all to who "seriously wants" that?

Please.

jim boeheim should be the popular choice

of course he said this after his team didn't make the final 64 one year

there will always be teams left out who complain and complain

WSJ Article on why it MUST happen

quote:

"What do you lose?" says Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, who has spoken out in favor of expansion in the past and says he's convinced it will happen eventually. "It's an easy decision."

"I'm a proponent of the tournament expanding," says Bernadette McGlade, commissioner of the Atlantic 10 Conference. "There's so much parity in the game today, it's become necessary."

Okay, I guess. I had no idea.

It's idiotic, either way.

I think the NFL strikes a good balance. I can appreciate an argument that they could cut back by 2 or maybe 4 teams. However,yYou can't really argue that there's a disincentive to win the most regular season games.

the problem with the NFL system is too much reliance on using divisions. it's a stupid idea to me now

Yeah, I can appreciate that point, as well.

Just make two conferences, and be done with it. Or you could even eliminate those.

go NBA ? top eight teams in each conference .. division champs get the top four seeds and home games in the first round and seed the field ? gives godell extra playoff games ...

Divisions are worthless in the NBA and NFL. This is how superior teams get screwed come playoff time.

They definitely belong. Today's win wasn't a fluke - they outcoached and outplayed the bolts.

of course there is not a disincentive, its just that you can lose 6 or 7 and still get a 2nd chance. That's my only complaint. I think regular seasons should be extremely important. When have too many wild cards it takes away from that importance.

MLB was the best imho before they added wild cards and an extra division. 2 divisions in each league, 4 teams in the playoffs.

especially when the made Kaeding miss those 2 easy FG's, that was a brilliant call by Rex.

Didn't Kaeding choke against the Jets in the playoffs a couple years ago also? That's crazy. Dude is money in the regular season but can't handle the playoffs.

I watched the game from start to finish, and bad kicker aside, the Chargers didn't look like they were a better football team than the Jets. No one is going to convince me the Jets didn't deserve the playoffs either. The only other playoff option is Houston, who would have been a shitty playoff team and probably one and done.

They earned a playoff berth. Why shouldn't they be in it?

The Jets would have beaten Indy whether or not they played their starters. Prove me wrong.
