You presented facts with objective analysis so you have already confused and offended 75% of LSU fans off the rip.

Nope that would be JJ McCarthy, JD5 will have the best career of this class of QBs drafted

Lamar jackson played against garbage defenses. i don't recall him doing so well against lsu in an exhibition game.
Number of starters from Louisville’s offense in 2016 and 2017 who have played a single down in the NFL: 1. Lamar Jackson. That’s it.
LSU probably had a dozen or more guys on their defense in that bowl game that were drafted by the NFL.
Using that game as any sort of measuring stick for Lamar Jackson is one of the most retarded takes in sports history.

Jayden Daniels targeted the same area of the field just 18.1% of the time in his career, the 5th lowest rate among QBs in that group,
Career, ignoring his development the last year.

Despite Daniels’ pretty deep passing statistics this year in his 5th year breakout campaign, the conservative deep passing approach we’ve seen from him throughout his career likely says more about his NFL potential.
Stating his development but discounting it based on…a baseless opinion.
So this is all a lot of word garbage.

Oh boy going to be a whole lot of new Redskins/Patriots-Bengals hybrid fans here now.

This would be a really good analysis...after the 2022 season.
The comp to Mariota is a bit misplaced. When he played at Oregon (2012-2014) their offense was still pretty unique to college football and defenses hadn't completely adjusted to it. In other words, it was as much the "system" as the player.
By 2023 almost every team is running an offense with concepts Oregon help innovate in the early 2010's. Defenses and DCs are more familiar with it and better equipped to defend it.
I'm not saying Daniels is going to be a great player. If you want to give a better (bad) comp it is probably RGIII. But saying he is more Mariota than Jackson is a bit silly. Jackson would not have been successful had Baltimore not changed their offensive approach to suit him. Something Tennessee didn't really do with Mariota.

Gonna end up heart broken when this goes chalk and he goes to the commanders but loving all the Daniels going passed 2 buzz bc the pats I think would take him if he’s there. That would be sick

We're linking random blogs now? Sheesh. That's as random a link as I've ever seen on this site.

This will go over like a wet fart in church on here.
I think Penix will be the 2nd best QB in this class behind Maye.

Lamar also loved to pound the intermediate and deep middle of the field, with 24.5% of his non-screen passing attempts going between the hashmarks at a depth of at least 10 yards down the field, the 11th highest rate of any of the first or second-round QBs taken since 2015 along with the presumed top 5 of this year’s QB class. Jayden Daniels targeted the same area of the field just 18.1% of the time in his career, the 5th lowest rate among QBs in that group, above only Christian Hackenberg, Teddy Bridgewater, Marcus Mariota, and Justin Fields.

That bolded part is damning.

Drake Maye = Next Sam Darnold
Same block head face and everything

Too bad Lamar chokes in big games, though…

You’re getting hammered by the pro LSU crowd, because they’re really defensive, truth is, nobody knows jack diddly shite. It’s such a crapshoot on where you get drafted.
I personally think he’s gonna be just a decent QB, 15-20 tier. I think he benefited from an incredible receiving core in college and could scramble more than he’ll be allowed to in the pros.
He’s really small too, idk if he’ll get crunched or not but possibility is there. I think he’ll be a starter for a long time but not “great” tier

When he did, LSU stuffed in the bowl game.

This is like factoring in Joe Burrow’s 2018 stats, JD clearly got over his fear of mistakes.
Exactly, the article treats Daniels last year, when his development came to full fruition as an outlier and buries it by averaging it out with his whole college career.
The much better comparison to Mariotta is Bo Nix. Lot's of passes behind the line of scrimmage and a decent runner, scrambler but nowhere near as good as JD.

Dumb.
Jayden is a much better downfield passer.
Posted on 4/20/24 at 8:54 am to Bench McElroy
Jayden tried to stay in the pocket and look down field. How many deep balls did Lamar have verses Jayden? That would explain the disparity in rushing.

to put it simply, we have never seen any quarterback in history run the ball like Lamar Jackson has.
Well, except for Cunningham, Vick, etc,.
