I guess they can't. I'd strongly advise him to go if I'm the league office though.

He's the biggest bust in this draft.

I really do not understand this move.

I find it bizarre. Having his face out there is part of marketing, not just for his team and the NFL, but for himself to get advertising income.

It shows that he's not worried about that.

When's the last time a #1 overall pick wasn't at the draft?

What does this have to do with Winston not going?

Jameis is an interesting prospect.

Slow as molasses but makes clutch plays and has an above average arm and accuracy.

It's not like he's some unknown commodity. He won't gain any extra exposure just from walking across a stage and shaking Goodell's hand.

I actually hope he doesn't attend for this very reason. Leave Goodell up there by himself like a bitch.

I think the opposite. He will get more facetime by not showing up and people talking about his absence.

He's the odds-on favorite to be the top overall pick?

They should have scheduled the draft on a leg day.

I saw on SI.com today that Winston and Mariotta are having personal visits at Tennessee. If he knew already that Tampa Bay was going to take him, he probably wouldn't waste his time.

If Tampa Bay does not take Winston first, then even waiting one or two picks would be excruciating (ala Brady Quinn, Johhny Manziel). Maybe Winston has concerns about how stupid he will look sitting there four multiple picks trying not to look disappointed. IMO,

He does not want to subject himself to the same thing that happened to Manzeil last year. The camera kept focusing on Johnny every time he was not picked. I don't have a problem with him not going.
