Honestly I think it’s fine the way it is. More and more teams going for it on 4th anyway. If teams want the automatic 3 from 55-60 yards it’s fine.

the NFL changed the rules on which balls kickers were allowed to use during games. Previously, they were brand new out of the box balls that were stiff and slippery and harder to kick. Broken in balls are easier to kick. He's not wrong if you've ever kicked before.
Game balls have always been artificially broken in before games. Now the "k-balls" (kicking balls) can be too
